Beer and tequeños. What could go wrong? [ENG-ESP]

My wife had been away from home for a few days and when she came back I wanted us to share a nice time together. Since Saturday was near, I decided it was a good idea to do a combination we hadn't tried yet. Please stick around for me to tell you about it.

Seeing some advertisements on social networks of food and restaurant sales I had seen that they offered tequeños along with beers. Maybe it was not something new, but at least I had not stopped to detail that. Obviously, I have tasted tequeños, and I have tasted beers, but not together. Why do they offer it that way and what could it taste like? I knew the day would come when I would know.

I went out to buy supplies for the next few days and wrote "beer and tequeños" on the list, unbeknownst to her. Then I grabbed a tray of 50 party tequeños. I liked that option even though they are smaller (and that means frying more pieces) because it's harder to fool the customer with little cheese. Those always have to have enough!

As for beer, I prefer to avoid those that say "Light" or something like that. Lately I prefer those with a more traditional and common taste. That's why I bought a Pilsen type. I like its taste, which I consider has not changed over the years, because that's how I still remember it through the years. It has 4.5° alcohol, and I like it chilled. I bought two 355 ml cans. That would be enough for both of us.

When I got home I told my wife that I had bought something she wasn't expecting, and showed her first the cans and then the tray of tequeños. She opened her eyes and mouth wide as she smiled. I told her that we would spend a different night, at home, tasting that, singing karaoke and dancing. She chose that it would be that night and not on Sunday. So we chilled the beers well.

When the time came, she fried all the tequeños. The smell is spectacular, and they had lots of cheese! Just as I expected. We took some pictures and laughed while we were taking some tequeños. In the meantime, dance music was playing, and it was irresistible not to hold hands and dance together amidst the good atmosphere.

Then we sat down and put some songs on the screen in karaoke mode to listen to each other and have a say in how we listened to each other, and then our Pilsen beers came on the scene, at the best moment! The beer refreshed us, made us smile and helped to keep the atmosphere special and intimate. There I was able to take advantage of this combination with the tequeños and it was extremely exquisite, since the tequeño is predominantly salty and the beer goes very well with its characteristic flavor. Tasting them at the same time is particularly delicious.

It was a special and different night, at home with an intimate atmosphere. And although doing it away from home has its particularity, I think having these moments in the spaces we use every day also creates new memories that we associate with beautiful things with everyday things and spaces, making them easier to remember.

That night my wife and I did several of the things we like to do together: laugh, eat tequeños, taste beer, sing, dance, share exclusive time for each other without distractions.

Before I say goodbye, please don't tell anyone that I ate 25 tequeños that night because I won't be invited to your parties.

Mi esposa había estado fuera de casa unos días y cuando llegó de vuelta quise que compartiéramos un rato agradable. Como el sábado estaba cerca, decidí que era buena idea hacer una combinación que no habíamos probado aún. Por favor, quédate para que te lo cuente.

Viendo algunas publicidades en redes sociales de venta de alimentos y restaurantes había visto que ofertaban tequeños junto a cervezas. Tal vez no era algo novedoso, pero al menos yo no me había detenido a detallar eso. Obviamente, he probado tequeños, y he probado cervezas, pero juntas no. ¿Por qué lo ofrecen así y qué sabor puede tener? Sabía que llegaría el día en el que lo sabría.

Salí a comprar las provisiones para los próximos días y anoté en la lista "cerveza y tequeños", sin que ella se diera cuenta. Entonces tomé una bandeja de 50 tequeños para fiestas. Me gustaba esa opción a pesar de ser más pequeños (y eso implica freír más piezas) porque es más difícil engañar al cliente con poco queso. ¡Esos siempre tienen que tener suficiente!

En cuanto a la cerveza, prefiero evitar aquellas que dicen "Light" o algo por el estilo. Últimamente prefiero aquellas con un sabor más tradicional y común. Por eso compré una tipo Pilsen. Me gusta su sabor, el cual considero que no ha cambiado a través de los años, porque así la sigo recordando a través de los años. Tiene 4.5° de alcohol, y me gusta bien fría. Compré dos latas de 355 ml. Con eso sería suficiente para ambos.

Al llegar a casa le dije a mi esposa que había comprado algo que ella no esperaba, y le mostré primero las latas y luego la bandeja de tequeños. Ella abrió los ojos y la boca al máximo a la vez que sonreía. Le dije que pasaríamos una noche diferente, en casa, degustando eso, cantando karaoke y bailando. Ella escogió que sería esa misma noche y no el domingo. Así que pusimos a enfriar bien las cervezas.

Llegado el momento, ella frió todos los tequeños. El olor es espectacular, ¡y tenían mucho queso! Tal como lo esperaba. Nos tomamos algunas fotos, nos reíamos a la vez que íbamos tomando algunos tequeños. Mientras tanto, sonaba música bailable, y era irresistible no tomarnos de la mano para bailar juntos en medio del buen ambiente.

Entonces nos sentamos y en la pantalla pusimos algunas canciones en modo karaoke para escucharnos el uno al otro y opinar en cómo nos escuchábamos. ¡Y allí entraron en escena nuestras cervezas tipo Pilsen, en el mejor momento! La cerveza nos refrescaba, hacía sonreír y ayudaba a mantener el ambiente especial e íntimo. Allí pude aprovechar de conocer esa combinación con los tequeños y sumamente exquisita, puesto que el tequeño es predominantemente salado y la cerveza le va muy bien con su sabor característico. Probarlas al mismo tiempo es particularmente delicioso.

Fue una noche especial y diferente, en casa con un ambiente íntimo. Y aunque hacerlo fuera de casa tiene su particularidad, creo que tener éstos momentos en los espacios que usamos a diario también crea nuevos recuerdos que asociamos con cosas bonitas con cosas y espacios cotidianos, haciéndolos más fácil de recordar.

Esa noche mi esposa y yo hicimos varias de las cosas que nos gusta hacer juntos: reírnos, comer tequeños, probar cerveza, cantar, bailar, compartir tiempo exclusivo el uno para el otro sin distracciones.

Antes de despedirme, por favor, no le digan a nadie que me comí 25 tequeños esa noche porque no me invitarán a sus fiestas.
