My Old Local

I'm one day late, but it's very seldom that I miss a Beer Saturday, so this week I'll post on a Sunday instead, but I'll still post under Beer Saturday. I don't like missing a week as I've been supporting @detlev's contest for a long time now.

My Old local from when I was younger closed it's doors back in the recession and it was a sad time. They recently reopened under new ownership and just started doing food again. We decided to stop in for dinner this evening on the way back from my middle son's soccer blitz on the far side of town.

I had one of these with the feed and it's a really good Irish IPA, one of my favourites in fact.

Great Food

Kelehans pub used to have a brilliant reputation for food, so the new kitchen had something to live up to and they did.

I started with loaded potato wedges and black pudding and melted cheese.

For my main course I opted for the burger and chips and it was spot on.

Here is a look at what else was on the menu. My wife had the Ceasar salad and mushroom pasta and really enjoyed both.

She also had this espresso martini cocktail which also hit the spot.

She had a couple, but I just had the one as I was driving.
