Pints of Guinness in the local for Beer Saturday

A few pints of the black stuff

I've a great local in my village.

The Guinness is sensational.

I don't go down often, maybe once every three months or so, but it's always fierce enjoyable when I do go down.

We always bring my uncle whose a farmer in his 80s and I can tell that he really enjoys those nights with us. He has so many brilliant stories from back in the day and he has an incredible recall for every little piece of information and is a gifted story teller. I could listen to him all day long and I always learn loads about my Grandparents, who I never met.

Here's evidence of the perfect pints.

The evening started with a round of four pints and by the end a few others had joined us and we were up to rounds of eight pints.

We timed it well too, as there was a music session on also, which was mighty. Banjos, squeeze boxes, violins, tin whistles. The works and sweet sweet music. It was a proper session. The local is a proper pub. We all had a proper catch up. So all in all it was a fantastic night.

Here is a sneak peak inside the pub last night.

As usual, I got some fantastic stories from my uncle about my Dad, my Granddad, my Granny and so many others who have gone before me.

I was brought up to have huge respect for my elders, so it's something I always have. I also teach my own children to always have this respect. I picked up my uncle yesterday evening to drive us up to the pub and he wasnt keen on getting to the pub too early, so we sat and had a cup of tea and a grand chat for about an hour before driving to the pub.

Don't worry, I don't drink and drive. I left my car in the village and picked it up today.

So that was my Beer Saturday, well Beer Friday really, but typing and talking about it today on Saturday.

How was your Saturday?

Man, these pints look good. The micro foam from a Guiness cannot be beaten. You almost inspired me to get my lazy behind from the chair and drive to the local pub to get one as well! Happy beer Saturday and enjoy it!

Ah ya hard to beat a good pint of Guinness. Even the visual is more appealing than a beer.
