Promoting Actifit & Hive in Lebanon - Pushup Challenge 2023

We've been planning an event for a while now that would kick start a series of activities in Lebanon, aimed at promoting Actifit and Hive in Lebanon, and growing the presence and adoption of our favorite app and blockchain.

One of the main factors of adoption we believe, is catering to something that interests users (such as fitness, blogging, gaming), associating this with an active community (such as our vibrant hive ecosystem), and binding this with tangible rewards (particularly for non-crypto savvy), as starting with cash rewards would be a great entry point to materialize rewards while jumping onto crypto.

Additionally, and while the bulk of promotional activities (whether by us or others) are happening via social media, we wanted to expand the reach, by going on the ground and reaching out to the masses, face to face.

Enter Pushup Challenge 2023

We came up with the idea of the pushup challenge based on the widespread adoption of cash-earning activities occurring whether on tiktok or youtube. It's always intriguing to users to find something that rewards, on the spot, particularly if associated with a challenge, regardless of the complexity or the size of the reward.

This is the first-ever event to promote Actifit & Hive in Lebanon

We picked the pushup challenge as it fits with our actifit vision of getting people to live healthy, but also due to the simplicity of performing pushups and being an activity that almost anyone has done at some point in their life.

It Pays to be Fit

Our first event took place on Sunday the 27th, whereby we headed to the Beirut waterfront area, an area where a lot of people head to do their morning or afternoon walks. We came equipped with a set of cool cards we designed introducing what Actifit, Hive, and several hive dapps are, with QR codes permitting the winners to claim a free account, in addition to the cash rewards they could earn .. aaand a fitness mat.

We had 3 tiers for the challenge, to make it even more intriguing:

• 10 pushups earns you the basic financial reward (100,000 LBP)
• 20 pushups earns you double the reward (200,000 LBP)
• 30 pushups earns you triple the reward (300,000 LBP)

Participation

We were positively surprised with the amount of participation.
People started a bit shy, yet soon got queueing into the challenge, calling their friends and trying to beat each others' scores. We had some participants reach 50 and 60 pushups. Participants were from different ages, fitness levels, guys and girls, old and young. Within around 40 mins, we ran out of cash giveaways, so we called it a wrap!
Some of the cool moments of the event included people asking for the rewards to be given to charity instead, or to someone else more deserving.
After the event, we've had several users signup to actifit via the free signup link, also started following actifit across socials.

We have shot the whole event, and are preparing several marketing videos across socials (3speak goes without saying, but also tik tok, youtube,...) as this could be an excellent promotional material to shed light into actifit, hive, and the ecosystem all around.

Upcoming Events

We are planning other similar events, the first of which towards end of September. While the first event was on the streets, the venues can be different, and we are already in talks with gyms and anticipate running the event across universities, malls, gyms, and other locations that can witness large participation and varying audiences.
