A TALKSHOW YOU CAN LEARN FROM (WEEKEND WRITING 165)
Good morning hivers, how are doing today. It's a beautiful Monday morning and I am on holidays. It's cold and am not getting off my bed till I get breakfast in bed. Hahaha, Alright, It's my pleasure to participate in @galenkp's challenge for weekend writing 165. There are many topics, but I am choosing:
The talk show
If you were the host of a television talk show, which two people would you most like to interview and why? What would you ask them? This can be anyone alive or deceased (from history), although religious figures are not permitted. Write a post of 300+ words using your own photos if possible.
If I am a host in a talk show, I would invite and interview my number one role model- MY MOTHER
I will be interviewing her, not because she can't give me the information in private, but I would love the world to hear her story.
What's her story, what would I like to ask her?
QUESTION FOR MY MOTHER:
This question still baffles me till today because many ladies can't do it. But my mother did it. I guess olden days love was different. Haha
When my Daddy got married to her, she was into business. My Dad was just a typist in our Local Government Secretariat. Till they had four children, my Dad kept working as a typist there. But according to the story, Daddy was unsatisfied his meagre salary and wished he had gone to the University.
Alluding to how small the salary was and the desire to improve their lot, Mother asked Daddy to enroll for GCE.( An exam written in Nigeria for O'level qualification into the University). While Daddy typed, he prepared for the exams. He passed the exams and Mother encouraged him to apply for admission into University of Benin. They both thought it would be easy. The government too encouraged those who wanted to go for study and promised them Study leave with pay.
No sooner had Daddy resumed his School, than the Government reversed it's promise. They said: "Study leave without pay. Daddy was utterly confused. But Mom encouraged him not to return home.
Mum sold different things to take care of four children including our Daddy's school fees. Mother sold shoes, coolers, dry gin, kerosene, hawked jewelries, sold baby wears during festive periods, made pap and gave my brothers and I to hawk. Finally she went into soup making. While doing all these, she found out that she was pregnant for the fifth child. ( Of course Daddy visits home to give her a pat at the back for doing well, hahahaha)
To cut the story short, Mum singlehandedly trained my father in the University while taking care of five children's feeding, healthcare, primary school fees, etc.
Daddy graduated and fortunately got converted to Health Officer. His level became high and he earned better.
Daddy was a level 14 officer before he died. The impact Mother made on Daddy's life made it possible for all of us, their children to go to the University. The sixth child-the youngest in the family was writing his final year exams when Daddy died. It's so sad, but we appreciated his quest for more earning which led for a better life for us. All my siblings and I wouldn't be where we are today without my parents. Special thanks to Mother. May God keep her longer for us.
My Mother is a model for many ladies including me. Some of us believe men should take care of women's need. But Mother taught everyone who cared to listen that you rise by lifting others. If you have the means and might, do not deny anyway a good opportunity. She is still alive reaping a large reward.
Even while Daddy took charge of our University education because he started earning well, Mother never left everything to Daddy. She constantly supplied us with provisions, whether we went home to collect or not, she would find a way to always send more down to us.
She made sure we never lacked. She is a real mother. We her children and grandchildren love her so much.
If my talk show isn't ended for the day, I would like to interview a battered woman I know.
QUESTION FOR THE SECOND GUEST--BATTERED WOMAN
She is constantly used as a punch bad but She is still silent in the marriage even pregnant.
On several occasions, I thought I should teach her how to report to social service or to judge Asaolu of the JUSTICE COURT but I remember that I was told by Mother that I should not poke nose into other married people's matter. Even God says what he has joined together, I shouldn't put asunder. But I hope the battered woman would be available to come tell what she is enjoying in the beating. I haven't said she should leave her home, but if actions are taken, the husband could be made to sign an undertaking. Other measures to correct problems in the house would be considered, not just hitting the woman everytime, even when heavy with child.
Well, that's it for the talk show. I hope you enjoyed listening or reading 😅. Thanks guys for coming to my talk show, before we end, we need @jessicaossom and @princessbusayo to give us some music with their lovely voices. Hahahaha
This is my entry into weekend experiences challenge, thanks to @galenkp for the topic.
Thanks for the visit, I will also appreciate your comments.
Yours, Adore.

This is simply amazing!
It's encouraging to know your dad had the desire to further his academics and your mom stood by him as a great pillar, and even to the children. You certainly had an enviable role mother as a mother. Thank you for sharing
God bless you. She is a rare gem
She truly is. Thank you for sharing
This is a very rare story and your mom is indeed a role model, may God keep her longer you all.

Your mother is an amazing woman! How she did is baffles me too but she did and she is truly an example to many young women. The patience and the trust exhibited by her as an undisputed act of love is truly admirable.

Your mother is an amazing woman and she deserves an award. You guys are blessed with amazing parents. My condolences 💐 about your dad.
I hope the bartered woman receives the urgent help she needs before the situation turns out even worse.

Hahahaha, we will plan to make it real. Thanks so much. Mother's are great
This way of simulating a talkshow is quite fun, I liked this idea because it is something very interesting, now the most amazing thing is this excerpt:
His mother was really a true warrior, because taking care of so many children like that, dammit, is not for everyone. She really is an example to be followed in determination, patience and love!
