In a world riddled with hate, injustices, oppression, and various vices, the desire for a better world is universal. However, achieving a better world amid these challenges is a complex task. Let's explore how love can serve as the foundational catalyst for positive change:

Live and Let Live: This principle emphasizes the importance of allowing others to lead their lives peacefully, just as we seek peace in our own lives. Love encourages us to prioritize the well-being of others, fostering an environment where selflessness and empathy reign. By shedding our "me-first" mentality, we contribute to a more harmonious world.

Empathy and Compassion: Love promotes empathy and compassion for others' struggles and hardships. When we genuinely care about the well-being of those around us, we are more likely to lend a helping hand and offer support during challenging times.

No Prejudice: Love calls for a fair and unbiased approach to decision-making, especially in matters of leadership and responsibility. Most times, individuals gain prominent positions not because of merit but due to personal connections with those of higher authority. Love and fairness can pave the way for qualified and deserving individuals to assume roles where they belong, promoting competence and equity.

Equity: Love encourages the fair treatment of all individuals, regardless of their background or circumstances. In our current world, the social status between those with fat salary and those with low income continue to widen, creating a division where the underpaid or unemployed as viewed as classless. Embracing love means addressing these disparities and ensuring that everyone has access to the same opportunities. By eliminating favoritism and discrimination, we can create a more just society.

Peace: Love is a powerful force that can bridge divides and bring about peace. When love prevails among nations, tribes, and communities, the incentive for conflict diminishes. Instead of viewing our neighbors as rivals, we should extend a helping hand and share in their successes. Through love, we can foster peace within our homes, workplaces, communities, and on a global scale.

Promoting Diversity and Inclusion: Love embraces diversity and inclusion. When we celebrate differences and treat all individuals with respect, we foster a sense of belonging and unity that transcends cultural, racial, and religious boundaries.

A better world may appear distant, but it is within reach when we unite under the common banner of love. Love has the potential to break down barriers, challenge injustices, and create a world where kindness, empathy, and fairness prevail.

In my own modest way, I contribute to making the world a better place through love. I am dedicated to my role as an educator, where I strive to impart knowledge and provide my students with the best education I can offer.

I also hold the position of president at my alma mater, a government primary school. Upon learning that the school lacked access to water for toilets and drinking, I rallied my fellow alumni group. Together, we pooled our resources, and just yesterday, we successfully installed a water supply system.

Prior to the start of the academic session, we had also taken steps to improve the school's infrastructure. We repaired a leaking roof and provided desks to accommodate 35 students in a classroom that previously had no chairs. Our efforts aim to create a conducive learning environment for the students, and we are grateful for the headmistress's expressions of gratitude.
