Fantasy Collage for the LMAC New Round #220

Today's collage is posted in response to the new template offered this month for the LMAC community. Here is the template, offered by @shaka.

I want to start off the month with a fantasy collage. The image reminded me of a scene that might have been from my childhood. Childhood is a time of fantasy. I used to spend my best moments sitting by a stream and daydreaming.

I won't say there was silence. There was always a kind of hum. It was the stream, the insects, the trees moving gently. I think I wouldn't mind at all having my final rest there. Except, there doesn't exist anymore. Like everything else, it has changed.

So my collage is an homage to the fantasies of youth. Education, sophistication, taught me to be more practical. There was an explanation, or a theory, for everything that was mysterious.

NASA tells me why the sky is blue:
Sunlight reaches Earth's atmosphere and is scattered in all directions by all the gases and particles in the air. Blue light is scattered more than the other colors because it travels as shorter, smaller waves. This is why we see a blue sky most of the time.

The elegant butterflies flitting from flower to flower--they may only live a couple of weeks--if they don't get eaten first.

And the birds, chirping in the trees--they may simply be waiting to make a meal out of the lovely butterflies.

But when I was child, lying in the grass, listening to the hum around me, none of that was in my mind. I was drifting not in thought, but in feeling. There were surely fantasies. I can't remember any of them, but they were not anchored in science, as I know it now.

My collage is really about what is going on in the mind of that child on the rock. The child who is walking with a large turtle and likely listening the hum of the afternoon.

What a lovely scene near the lake. But what's so adorable is the imagination of the boy on the rock. A flying donkey made possible by one of my fractals as its colorful wings. Looking at the face of the donkey, it looks surprised at the new addition to body. Now, it doesn't have to wade the water to get to the other side.

I like the overall theme of your collage. You turned the drab waterhole into a light and airy adventure for all. The playfulness in the elements glows. Thanks for including some of my fractals. I appreciate it.

Thanks for sharing this collage. Take care.

Thank you. I love your fractals and when I planned this collage I knew I would use some of them. They have the perfect suggestion of whimsy and magic.

I wanted to get the collage out today to emphasize that the new round had begun. Usually collages take a long time for me, but his one felt natural, and came easily.

I appreciate your support. Have a wonderful day and be well, @justclickindiva.
