I am going to do a post about spring canned beer in Japan.

In Japan, cherry blossoms bloom en masse in the spring and Japanese people love cherry blossoms.
This is probably because the Japanese social schedule is structured in such a way that many things begin in spring, and when the cherry blossoms bloom all at once in spring, it feels as if the cherry blossoms are celebrating the beginning of something new.
Of course, as new things begin and new encounters are made, so too are partings.
Japanese cherry blossoms color such events.

Japanese people like cherry blossoms so much that they are used in the design of canned beer.
These are called "spring labels," and they are designs that signal spring in Japan.

Cherry blossoms are painted all over the canned beer, it's already spring! Let's drink beer under the cherry blossoms! It seems to call out to us, "Let's drink beer under the cherry blossoms!
It makes me want to take the beer and go looking for a tree with cherry blossoms (lol).

Some of the designs are already pink for the entire can. That is the one in the upper left of the four pictures above.
Normally, it is just a silver can, as you can see on the right of it. The color is only available during the spring.

Today I decided to try this beer first.
This can has a trick. Let's look at it from the top.

Instead of the usual stay-on tab, the mouth of the can is made to open wide.
The mouth of the can, which is filled with carbon dioxide gas, is opened wide and at once to atmospheric pressure, which causes the creamy bubbles to expand all at once.
When the can is actually opened, it looks like the picture below.

The foam really expands naturally like this.
The bubbles swell up so much that they overflow the rim of the can. It looks delicious.

The way the bubbles expand depends on the temperature.
If it is chilled to a very low temperature, the bubbles do not expand as much because it is difficult for the carbon dioxide gas to expand.
If you take it out of the refrigerator and let it sit for a little time, it will puff up.
About 8 degrees Celsius seems to be the best temperature. 10 degrees Celsius or higher will cause it to spill over, so be careful!

I want you to enjoy the creamy foam of dry beer! That seems to be the wish of this brewer.
I lived up to that wish and enjoyed the foam and the dry beer.

Let's also open this pink can of beer.
This one will be poured into a beer glass.

I got this beer glass at an event held in my city in respect of the German Oktoberfest.

In Japan, many people enjoy drinking cold beer in the hot summer to pour down their throats.
So even though it was Oktoberfest, it was held in August (laughs).

The way Oktoberfest works is that when you first enter the venue, you receive one of several types of beer glasses like this one that are prepared at the venue for a deposit of ³,000-.
After receiving the glasses, you are asked to pour the beer you want to drink and pay for the beer.
If you want a new glass for your next beer, they will exchange the glass for a new one.
Finally, you return the glass when you leave the venue.
However, if there is a glass that you really want, you are allowed to take it home with a deposit.
I took this one, one of the many types of glasses available.
I use it to drink beer on special occasions.

I drank two beers at the same time. I am happy on a holiday like this.

For snacks, we had oden, a Japanese hot pot dish.
This is a very good food to snack on and is a favorite stewed dish in Japan.

The beer was so good that I made and ate more sautéed chicken afterwards.
Good beer and good food are the joys of the holidays.

私は日本の春の缶ビールについて記事にしようと思います。

日本では春に一斉に桜の花が咲き、日本人は桜の花が大好きです。
多くの物事が春から始まるように日本の社会のスケジュールが成り立っているので、春に桜が一斉に開花すると、新しことが始まるのをまるで桜が祝ってくれているように感じるからでしょう。
もちろん新しいことが始まる、新しい出会いがあれば別れもあります。
そのような行事を彩るのが日本の桜の花です。

日本人は桜が好きすぎて、缶ビールのデザインにも採用されます。
これらは「春ラベル」と呼ばれていて、日本に春を知らせるデザインなんです。

桜が缶ビールのあちこちに描かれて、もう春だよ！桜の花の下でビールを飲もう！と呼びかけてくるようです。
ビールを持って桜の咲いている木を探しに行きたくなりますね（笑）

デザインの中には、もう缶まるごとピンク色になってしまうものもあります。上の写真の4枚の中の左上のものがそれです。
通常は、その右にあるようにただの銀色の缶なんですよ。春の間だけの限定色です。

今日はまずこのビールを飲んでみることにしました。
この缶には仕掛けがあります。上から見てみましょう。

通常のステイオンタブではなく、大きく缶の口が開くように出来ています。
炭酸ガスが詰められている缶の口が大きく一気に大気圧に解放されることで、一気にクリーミーな泡が膨らむという仕掛けになっているのです。
実際に缶を開けると、下の写真のようになります。

本当にこんなふうに自然と泡が膨らんできます。
泡が缶の縁から溢れてしまうくらい膨らむんです。美味しそうですねぇ。

やはり温度によって泡の膨らみ方は異なります。
非常に低音に冷やしておくと、炭酸ガスが膨らみにくいので、それほど泡立ちません。
冷蔵庫から出して、少し時間を置いておくとふっくらと膨らみます。
8℃くらいがベストのようです。10℃以上だと吹きこぼれてしまいますので注意！

辛口のビールのクリーミーな泡を楽しんで欲しい！というのがこのビールメーカーの願いのようです。
私はその願いに応えて、泡と辛口ビールを美味しく飲みました。

こちらのピンク色の缶ビールも開けてみましょう。
こちらはビアグラスに注いでいただくことにします。

このビアグラスは、私の住んでいる街で、ドイツのオクトーバーフェストをリスペクトして開催されたイベントで手に入れました。

日本では暑い夏に冷たいビールを喉に流し込むように飲むのを楽しむ人が多いです。
なので、オクトーバーフェストなのに8月に開催されました（笑）

そのオクトーバーフェストの仕組みでは、まず入場したら、会場に準備されているこのような数種類のビアグラスの中から1個をデポジット¥1,000-で受け取ります。
グラスを受け取って、飲みたいビールを注いでもらい、ビール代金を支払います。
次のビールを飲む時にグラスを新しいものにしたい場合は、グラスの交換をしてくれます。
最後に会場から出る時にグラスを返却します。
けれど、どうしても欲しいグラスがある場合は、デポジットによって持ち帰ることも許されています。
私は何種類も準備されているグラスの一つであるこちらを持ち帰りました。
特別な日にビールを飲む時に使っています。

うーん、ビールは美味しい！
2つのビールを同時進行で飲んでしまいました。こんな休日は幸せです。

おつまみには、日本の鍋物である「おでん」を食べました。
これはお酒のおつまみにとても良い食べ物で、日本で愛されている煮込み料理です。

ビールがあまりにも美味しいので、この後、さらにチキンソテーを作って食べました。
美味しいビールと美味しい料理は、休日の喜びですね。

ビールが美味しくて思わず料理を作ってしまうのか、それとも美味しい料理を食べていると自然と美味しいビールが飲みたくなってしまうのか…きっとどちらも正解でしょう。

せっかく桜が咲いたのに、今日は激しい雨が降っています。
この雨に打たれて幾らかの桜の花は散ってしまうかもしれません。
一昨日の時点では蕾もかなり残っていたので、雨上がりに一斉に開花するかもしれないです。
