The 100-Day Project 2.0 — Day 25: Over and Out; Short and Sweet

avatar

Well, there was a lull in activity and I sadly have to throw in the towel on my 2025 attempt at The 100-Day Project... after only 25 days.

I'm not going to sink into calling this a failure, nor am I going to list off a long sad story of rationalizations and excuses. I consider these experiences to simply be good and valid learning experiences.

Above all, I have really come to appreciate how I do not live a life that lends itself well to participating in something that requires a daily commitment.

In taking the 50,000 foot overview, I can see that if the challenge was "Have XYZ ready and finished at the end of 100 days, I would very likely succeed. But with the format of "done some of this EVERY DAY" I am very unlikely to succeed.

It's not the work itself that's the problem, it's the scheduling.

On the positive side, I did get a fair bit of new work done... and with our weather warming up a bit this week, I'll even be able to put a finish coat on the 20 or so stones I managed to complete in the course of the past 3-4 weeks.

With all that said, it's entirely likely that I'll have another go at it, next year. Or maybe even in the fall, after summer shows end.

Ironically, the "weak link" in this year's attempt was social media participation... which was precisely the aspect of the work I most wanted to work on!

Oh, well...

Final Thoughts for Today:

There's never any doubt that I love the process of painting mandalas on stones. To some, it might sound trivial and/or endlessly repetitive, but it remains a source of enjoyment, as well as a great meditation for me.

So, I'm going to resume my previous sporadic posting habits... sharing something whenever I have gone through one of my manic bursts of creative inspiration... with periods of silence in between.

I am grateful for the fact that I do have the felxibility in my life to keep whatever schedules suit me... and it would seem that routines are really not my bag.

And that's really OK!

I appreciate you coming to visit and please do leave a comment if you feel so inclined!

Thank You!
