The 100-Day Project 2.0 — Day 6: Finally Some "Check Marks" on my List!
So, I am doing The 100-Day Project Challenge again; my second attempt at this creativity "habit building" exercise. You can read more at the above link; or just choose "a creative thing" to pursue for 100 consecutive days... and then use #the100dayproject as one of your first three tags so others on Hive and other social media can find you!
Today is Day 6.
It always makes me happy when I can retrieve finished stones from the lacquering process and inspect them to make sure that they are "1st quality."
Yes, I apply "quality control" to Alchemy Stones.
I'm one of those "weird" creatives who applies "right brain/left brain" thinking to everything.
Back when I was proprietor of actual brick-and-mortar art galleries, I was constantly having to tell artists that bringing in a beautiful painting... on a loosely framed limp canvas with half the corner folds coming undone... was not good enough.
Of course, a few were "too precious" to deal with such things and felt the world should just accept their creativity "as is." Maybe it was harsh, but I invited them to go explore that particular world... because our gallery wasn't part of it!
Today's Creative Endeavor:
Well, today turned out to be a big fat zero in the creative arena.
However, I'm not going to beat myself up over that, as I got other things done, and one of the "deals" I made with myself on taking on this challenge was that I wasn't going to hold myself to perfection.
Which is a fancy way of saying that our lives are just too damn busy to hit all the marks, every day... because frequently something "comes up," and all other things have to be abandoned.
Minding the Store(s):
Since there were finished Heart Stones just arrived back from the garage this morning, part of the day was used for photography of those six stones, and subsequently getting them listed for sale.
That, in and of itself, ate a lot of time off the clock. Even though I have "a system" in place, listing items for sale is a tedious process. but it has to be done.
Anyway, the Heart Stones category in the Etsy shop is now fully built out and stocked!
Now I can turn my attention to the next category... I decided to change directions on that one and do another that is sort of related to Valentine's Day: "Soulmate Stones."
At this point, there is only one Soulmate Stone listing in the Etsy shop, but multiples on eBay. So this bit will involve moving listings... which will be somewhat easier, since the photos and descriptions are already there. It's just a lot of "busy work."
Social Media Musings:
More time spent on "just getting it all together."
Added the "Shop" feature on the LinkTree account, and populated it with a couple of Heart Stone listings from Etsy. Just have to remember to put something else there after February 14th. Or not.
I learn something new every day... like that particular feature.
Meanwhile, I also started outlining a couple of posts for the primary website blog.
Final Thoughts for Today:
In some ways, I was a little disappointed in this day... but there's just too much "life" happening in our world, and I have to remind myself that this is not my full-time job!
As such, I have to be content with just filling in whatever gaps I can find time to work with.
I appreciate you coming to visit and please do leave a comment if you feel so inclined!
Thank You!

Because I am trying to make some semblance of income — a part time living, even — I now add this footer to all my posts, in the hope that someone, somewhere, might decide to take a further look at my work, and perhaps consider supporting independent art.
