The 100-Day Project, Day 25 — Some Moments of Respite, and Moving Forward
Day 25 of the 100-Day Project, and I'm one-quarter of the way there! I'm actually a little surprised that I have stuck with it as long as I have... which gives me additional confidence that I might actually make it to the end.
Today's new work... taking a break from the "retreat stones!"
As always "time will tell" rules the day!
After sharing my four "prototype" stones with the ladies holding the retreat in May, it has been decided that I can just do a "mix and match" of the different style stones I created, and anything else "along those same lines" I feel inclined to do.
Which is really nice news, because it means I don't have to be a stickler about trying to match a/the patterns as closely as possible.
The four finished "prototype" stones
Maybe I'm going to more trouble with this gig than it merits... but these stones are ending up in the hands of people who have paid $800 + room and board + travel expenses from all over the US and Canada, and they are all of a very spiritual persuasion, so I'm looking down the road, beyond just filling this commission.
That said, I'm actually going to take a break from working on those particular items for the day — maybe for the whole weekend — and create something different.
Going to paint a "peacock design" today
Day 25 Stone Painting:
As mentioned, I'm taking a short break from working on the commission. I think I will start up in earnest on that on Monday.
Between now and then, I think I will just try to paint a few items that always do well it shows, and that I enjoy doing. Besides, we need to have some of these in stock!
The design takes form
I realize that the term "in stock" might not sound very artistic or spiritual, but all in all — when you add together the events we attend — we do typically end up selling a couple of hundred stones a year so I am talking about stock here. As in, quantity.
It's just funny how much people love the stones in person, yet they are all but impossible to sell online...
Getting close...
Day 25 Summary and Social Media Bits:
One medium sized stone painted: This one actually turned out nicely; this color set is among my favorites, and often reminds me of a male peacock's tail feathers. It's also one of the most popular combinations for when we attend shows and events!
Daily Twitter/X post: Check. Shared some non-stone content, for a change. Follower count is actually rising slowly... and not just with people I followed!
Daily Facebook Page post: Check. Added a collage image of various Chakra Stones.
Daily Instagram post: Check. Similar Chakra Stone picture.
Other Stuff: As usual, this Hive post; working a bit on scheduling events for the year; looks like we'll be vending in Oregon in mid-July, at a 4-day outdoor festival! One of the Christmas shows is also asking for our participation; it's a good one we go to almost every year. Daily shoutout to @gillianpearce!
Day 25 completed; feeling a little overwhelmed today because I have a lot of very divergent things on my plate... Tomorrow I have to do wall-to-wall eBay stuff for one of my other businesses...
I appreciate you coming to visit and please do leave a comment if you feel so inclined!
