The 100-Day Project, Day 28 — Quiet Day Before a LOT of Work!
Today was day 28 of the 100-Day project...
Choosing to take it quite easy — in all ways — today because tomorrow morning our friend from Seattle arrives with a trailer full of topsoil for our garden, and we have to empty the trailer so he can leave and get "back across the water" again before dark.
This was such a great stone, just to begin with! It seemed quite obvious how the design was meant to unfold...(painted circa 2017)
So, I don't really expect to have a lot of energy for creative stuff, once I've spent 4-5 hours shoveling soil!
Of course, not going to say "never" here... but I expect I will be dead tire by tomorrow evening, and not inclined to sit and focus on anything.
Another slight variation for the Retreat Stones project
Day 28 Stone Painting:
So for today, I did stay true to my ambition and got another stone painted for the "Retreat Stone" project, so now I technically speaking have 5 of 30 completed. The stone I painted today is pictured above. These actually won't take too long to complete, and I will have them all ready with plenty of time to spare if I can just keep painting one or two per day till I am done.
Having finished that, I painted a different stone to just become part of my regular stock.
I used to paint these kinds of almost monochromatic stone quite often, in my early days of doing this.
Decided I want to do something with black and white, and just a little bit of color. Ended up going with violet/purple as the accent color.
The white makes it fairly eye-catching, even though it has a bit of a monochromatic feel to it. The tiny bit of gold adds a bit of warmth.
The finished stone is below:
A relatively small stone... I generally can paint these in 30-40 minutes.
Day 28 Summary and Social Media Bits:
Finished TWO stones today: Chipping away at completing the order for the Women's Retreat, and added one smaller stone for general stock. Getting fairly comfortable with doing a bit of creative work every day.
On the other hand, I am still struggling a bit with finding the inspiration and energy to do the social media part of this challenge. I know that marketing and "brand awareness" are important, but it remains a struggle, perhaps because I have to keep persuading myself that it is not a waste of time.
Daily Twitter/X post: Check. Starting to share some of my most unique designs from the past.
Daily Facebook Page post: Check. Actually, my wife did a Spring Equinox post on the Facebook page... she does quite a bit of social media stuff, as well.
Daily Instagram post: Check. One of my unique older designs. Also found a few new people to follow.
Other Stuff: As usual, this Hive post; fair bit of time given to "taking care of (other) business;" also looking at the ways different Etsy sellers are approaching the video issue; Daily shoutout to @gillianpearce!
Day 28 completed; Fairly good day, I suppose. Didn't feel super inspired today, and I know tomorrow is going to be a challenge. Also rather bummed that that Hive has taken a 23% nosedive in the time Bitcoin has taken a 9% nosedive. That puts Hive in the same company as stupid memecoins...

Super good!
Two stones is great going. I hope the soil moving is not too tiring. It might be nice to do something physical and be outside, especially if the weather is good. I could do with making an effort to get outside more.
That's unusual with the small three designs on one side. Very nice.
