I went to check because I was trying to encourage people to earn badges for the contest, and I see that @alessandrawhite did in fact send to the Hive Whale:

...but I don't see her having a badge yet? Is there a problem with the Hive Whale right now? Alessandra, did you get your gif with the whale spraying?

I'm totally counting you for the contest, btw, I just wanted to make sure your video and badge worked out for you! :)

Hello @phoenixwren, thank you for bringing this to our attention.
The Hive Whale and the badge is managed by @roelandp and he is the one to contact for any issue.
PS: It is most likely that the whale is wintering at the moment, which probably explains why the badge was not awarded.
