Muy buenas noches, feliz fin de semana para todos. Me tome una semana libre de este concurso porque realmente tuve mucho trabajo, pero esta semana a pesar de llegar un poco tarde les quiero compartir mi entrada de esta semana, elegí a una de las cartas que para mi es la más difícil, Twisted Jester a pesar de no tener tantos detalles como otras cartas, se me dificulta por ese aspecto de mascara que tiene en el rostro, realmente no me sale muy bien asi que decidí cambiar ese aspecto e mascara por un rostro más realista y pálido, aunque sigo sin estar contenta al 100% con esta versión de twisted jester, pero hice lo mejor que pude para el momento, realmente este retrato fue todo un reto, desde el boceto hasta que poner de fondo, todo se complico bastante, espero que les guste aunque a mi personalmente no me convence del todo.

I took a week off from this contest because I really had a lot of work, but this week despite being a little late I want to share my entry for this week, I chose one of the cards that for me is the most difficult, Twisted Jester despite not having as many details as other cards, it is difficult for me because of the mask aspect that has on the face, I really don't get it very well so I decided to change that aspect and mask for a more realistic and pale face, although I'm still not 100% happy with this version of twisted jester, but I did the best I could for the moment, really this portrait was a challenge, from the sketch to what to put in the background, everything was quite complicated, I hope you like it although I personally am not convinced at all.

Proceso/Process

Hice el boceto, realmente me costó muchísimo, al principio seria un retrato mas completo, incluyendo torso, pero me quedo muy mal, decidí dejarlo solo con la parte del cuello, me gusto el boceto muchísimo, se ve incluso mejor que pintado jajaja, en fin, empecé a pintar la piel con tonos pálidos para que luciese parecido al rostro de Twisted Jester, un poco de gris oscuro alrededor de los ojos para crear ese maquillaje, luego labios rojos, en otra capa empecé a mezclar los colores para dejar una piel más suave, luego tome morado y empecé a pintar el gorro y con negro el cuello.

I made the sketch, it really cost me a lot, at first it would be a more complete portrait, including torso, but it was really bad, I decided to leave it only with the neck part, I liked the sketch a lot, it looks even better than painted hahaha, in short, I started to paint the skin with pale tones to make it look similar to Twisted Jester's face, a little bit of dark grey around the eyes to create that makeup, then red lips, in another layer I started to mix the colors to leave a softer skin, then I took purple and started to paint the cap and with black the neck.

Después pinte con rojo la otra parte de la prenda del cuello agregue algunas luces y sombras, detalle un poco mas el rostro y pinte algunas líneas encima de los labios que simulan esas líneas que tiene la carta original, continue rellenando todo el gorro haciendo una parte morada y la otra azul muy oscuro casi negro, empecé a darle forma a la tela del gorro pintando esta especie de pliegues con luces y sombras, pinte las esferas que cuelgan del gorro y luego añadí una capa de luces donde comencé a iluminar algunas zonas del rostro, llego el momento del fondo y para esta parte fue donde perdí mas tiempo, pues no conseguía un fondo que me gustara, no conseguía un color que combinara bien con todo el retrato, estaba un poco mol4esta y empecé a experimentar haciendo cualquier locura al final obtuve este efecto de glitch de fondo que no me encanta pero tampoco me disgusta, siento que este retrato quizás hubiese quedado mejor si no me enfocaba en hacer la cara tan pálida, ya me ha pasado muchas veces que trabajar con colores tan claros no me da buenos resultados, además me producen algo de ansiedad e inquietud a la vista, quizás la próxima vez me atreva a hacer una idea menos arriesgada.

Then I painted with red the other part of the neck garment, I added some lights and shadows, I detailed a little more the face and painted some lines above the lips that simulate those lines that the original card has, I continued filling all the cap making one part purple and the other part very dark blue almost black, I began to give form to the fabric of the cap painting this kind of folds with lights and shades, I painted the spheres that hang of the cap and then I added a layer of lights where I began to illuminate some zones of the face and came the moment to paint the background, for this part was where I lost more time, because I couldn't get a background that I liked, I couldn't get a color that combined well with the whole portrait, I was a little upset and I started to experiment doing anything crazy, at the end I got this background glitch effect that I don't love but I don't dislike either, I feel that this portrait would have been better if I didn't focus on making the face so pale, it has already happened to me many times that working with such light colors doesn't give me good results, besides they produce some anxiety and restlessness in my eyes, maybe next time I will dare to do a less risky idea.

A veces nos exigimos tanto que no nos damos cuenta del gran trabajo que hacemos, no seas tan duro contigo misma, el dibujo quedó increíble, a mí en lo personal me encanta mucho, es muy linda pero te da esa vibra que si te descuidas te aniquila jeje, excelente trabajo!
