The Meaning of My Name

The picture above belongs to me.

Hello and welcome! :)

This post is taking part in the Ecency competition.

I've never really thought about the meaning of my name, so in this post we'll do it together.

According to the internet, the name Alexandra is a synonym for strength and power, coming from the Greek Alexandros, which literally means: protector of people. The name Alexandra signifies an indomitable spirit and the ability to face challenges.

What is known about the personality of people bearing this name?

The person bearing this name is very inquisitive, yet conscientious and organised. However, it is not always clear what she is thinking and feeling. She is a very sensitive woman with an excellent memory and a complex personality. She can hurt with words and be haughty towards those around her. At the same time, she is a very family-oriented woman, ready to give up herself for her loved ones. She wants to be independent and loves adventure. She is not in the habit of getting into conflicts and does not wage an uphill war with anyone. She is a cheerful, warm and courageous person. She is a responsible and resourceful woman. She aims high in life and sets ambitious goals for herself. When necessary, she knows how to keep a cool head. She appreciates both order and discipline. A woman with this name is rarely spontaneous and resolute.

I don't necessarily believe in the meaning of names, but maybe there is something in it, because I agree with at least some of the statements.

I also found my name in other languages:

  • English - Alexandra, Sandy, Alexia

You skipped another combination of letters in your name 😀
In the areas of the former Yugoslavia (Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia), we write your name: Aleksandra. and the nickname is Alex, and often Sandra, although it is also often a name for oneself 🙂

Alexandra is the name that I loved for my eldest daughter and she loves it and it is the one she uses as her main name, since it is her middle name. The first name one was the idea of his mother and her sisters and he doesn't like it at all, although it is very original. Interesting reading.
