Splinterlands Social Media Challenge - Theme: Reward Cards! UNLOCKING SOULDBOUND CARDS, IT'S WORTH IT
another week and this time it is time to analyze the new update, where the SOULBOUND cards can be released.
But it is really worth paying so much to release these cards, how many are willing to release them so that future users who enter the game have the opportunity to obtain them and thus have what they indicate, that future users can build lineups with these cards.
In order to be able to analyze, at least on my part, whether it is worth it or not, I am going to analyze the current market prices of the different card collections.
First of all, in particular, the only legendary card SOULBOUND that I managed to obtain GOLDEN LAMINA was sorriel the bale
In this case, according to the information given, to release this letter you would have to spend 125,000 dec, which at today's exchange rate is $78. This cost is very high for small investors, and even less so because many of them see how the cost of trading has been reduced. letters in such a significant way, which makes one hesitate to make such a high investment.
This makes it difficult to see a sufficiently large flow of cards marked for rent or sale.
In my case I was thinking of releasing it to rent it and with what I get from that, buy other cards, but with that price this plan is difficult for me, it is not within my reach, especially in the time they are giving for be able to release them.
In order to analyze whether or not it is worth releasing this card, we are going to look at the prices of REVELION's golden legendaries, which would show us how profitable it is for someone who wants to release these cards for sale.
Here we see that of 21 REVELION legendary cards, 1 has a lower cost than the one we must pay to release the SOULDBOUND cards, 3 whose cost is almost the same as the one we are going to pay to release them.
As we see, the Barashkukor letter has a cost of 96,509.57 DEC, which at a cost of 125,000 DEC, would result in an economic loss if that were to happen over time. Zebajin has a cost of 128,497.99 DEC, which is almost the cost of releasing the card that, with the payment made when selling to the DAO, would ultimately result in a loss.
And the others are similar in cost but however there are 17 cards that the selling cost in the market gives an interesting profit margin being 20 dollars or more, being more than 30 dollars.
Another aspect is to see how this is maintained over time and if we look at the CHAOS LEGION collection, this one in particular would give many players, especially the newer ones, a discouragement to be able to release these cards and be able to put them up for sale, especially if They release some cards and cannot sell them quickly.
If a new player comes in now and sees how much a user has to spend to release a card and sees what REVELION is, it would be more or less profitable but if he sees the market for CHAOS LEGION cards, it would be very discouraging since most of the 50 legendary cards GOLDEN SHEET have a much lower cost than what would be paid to release the cards, since on average it is only 48,053.82 DEC and since It costs 125,000 DEC it would be a big loss since you pay 78 dollars and on average this collection is on average from 20 dollars to 40 dollars that is to say between 58 and 38 dollars of loss.
However, the problem with the prices of this collection is that it has these prices due to a too high issue of it, which gave an oversupply in the prices of this card, something that new players cannot know at first and When you see the market, think in the future about whether or not to release the cards from the next collection that is currently going to come in, but this will also be defined by how the release of the SOULDBOUND cards goes, and how these will train in the market.
To see how the cost of the cards stays the same or increases over time, we will see the cost of the cards in the next collection.
Here we see that the cost of the cards in the collection prior to Chaos Legion has remained more or less stable, with some cards having a very high cost, however others whose cost does not cover what we are currently going to pay.
Of the 33 cards, only 3 have a lower cost than unlocking the SOULDBOUND cards, but these legendaries that have this cost are not very good cards, so in general the cost is maintained.
The previous collection, we can see that the cost has increased significantly.
On the other hand, we see with respect to the release of a normal legendary card, that is, not gold foil, that in this case I plan to sell the Sorriel the Bale cards.
As we see, a legendary level 2 would cost 5000 DEC.
As we see, a legendary level 2 would cost 5000 DEC, which would be 3.12 dollars at the current cost.
We see that of 22 cards we have that 1 has a much lower cost than the cost of unlocking the card and 3 which is a fairly similar cost, so in this case for a user who wants to put the difference up for sale as seen in the The rest of the cards are not so high and stimulating to do so, so I see it as a little difficult to want players to spend such a high cost for what they can have in profits from selling.
Now regarding the maintenance of the value, I will not show the one from CHAOS LEGION, because that is where it is worth crying about, but because it is an overprint error, I will place the one from before this UNTAMED.
In this case the value did not hold up so well, observing that of 36 cards, 10 has a cost much less than what we will invest now and 4 a very close one.
This means that a large percentage of cards did not maintain their value, but seeing the usefulness of these, with respect to existing cards, it means that perhaps the loss of value in the market is linked to the fact that depending on the cards that come out in collections later, it can make them lose their usefulness, lowering their value in the market.
CONCLUSION
The cost of unlocking the cards seems quite high to me and given what the cards are like on the market, I think that very few are going to dare to unlock cards and what they want to achieve is to have these cards on the market so that If new players have them available, it will be very difficult and the availability in the sale of those cards will be very low.
There is not a very big stimulus in terms of the value of unlocking the cards and the average value of unlocking them.
Although in gold cards an interesting profitability can be achieved, in non-gold cards that profitability is not so high, and many will prefer to wait for the SOULDBOUND cards to become available on the market to decide whether to unlock one or not.
We have to see how the market develops but I don't see a very flattering scenario.
That's why the proposal to reduce the unlocking cost by half, I see that it would be a way to have more cards for sale on the market, so that new players can acquire them, and with such a high cost of unlocking them that objective will not be achieved at first glance.
If the cost is not lowered, they will only have to at least further extend the time in which the SOULDBOUND cards can be unlocked.
For my part, I am going to try to release a legendary card, Sorriel the Bale, to put it up for sale and thus explore the mood in the market for the purchase of the legendary SOULDBOUND, and with the sale of that card, unlock more cards, green them and thus unlock the cards you want, keep and see if I can unlock the golden Sorriel the Bale and thus be able to put this card for rent.
I hope you like it and I hope to read your opinion.
