Cosmic Creations Edition #10: REBIRTH

Sup folks~
After posting my tribute fanart for the Holozing game community the other, I couldn't help but notice that something felt awfully off. Yep, you guessed it. It was Cosmic Creation's Rebirth contest. Now I shall take you on a little tour inside my brain, cause... why not? :D

Resurrection

Rebirth is a concept known by a vast majority of people and is interpreted, in turn, in many more ways. Many people associate "Rebirth" with "Resurrection in another body" - to come back to life but as another person in another or and form. Personally, I don't believe in that kind of rebirth - once this little grim is dead, he shall stay so forever.

I don't mean people who do believe in that are wrong, I can't prove nor deny anything in that matter. I just don't follow the same thought process, but having conversed with those who do, I do believe there is some good in what they say - you can always take life lessons from anyone, to be fair.

Evolution

This second, less popular interpretation of the word is to "have a drastic personality change". Now, you might already know someone who has gone through that. Oftentimes, near-death experiences or sudden incidents that happen to us make us question some core values and in turn, change them - often for the better, hence the word "evolution".

Conclusion

It does not matter whether you're a rebirth believer or have experienced those life-altering extreme feelings. While those experiences could lead to good or bad results, what's more important in my opinion is to "rebirth constantly", so to speak. To improve yourself and be better than your previous self constantly. Not necessarily daily, but non-stop. That, I think, is the true essence of rebirth... even resurrection stories end up with people going back and righting their previous wrongs - we got our lives now, so why not take it from here and do the "right" right now...

I know it wasn't a WRITING contest on rebirth, but I felt like sharing a few cents here and there.

In this drawing, I tried to portray the fact that not all "rebirths" are good - some could be evil. That's why the girl inside has got this ominous stare, about to be born to cause some mischief... or something :D
