MAKING JEWELLERY FROM AFRICAN PRINTS FABRI
In honour of the world culture and diversity day, I will be sharing with you guys how I made this beautiful jewellry from our African prints fabric. In the African culture, jewellries are mostly used to beautiful and decorate royalty. While our african prints are one key identification of Africans and the African culture.
MATERIALS NEEDED
- Pieces of African prints fabric(Ankara material)
- Evasive Gum
- Scissors
- Strong paper or carton
- Cable wire or thick rope
PROCEDURES
STEP ONE: Using a circular object trace out on a strong paper or carton a round circle.
STEP TWO: Using a scissors, cut out the shape you just drew
STEP THREE: Rub some gum on th3 circle you just cut out.
STEP FOUR: After doing that place it on the wrong side of a piece of African print fabric like this
STEP FIVE: Notch and gum the outer part of the fabric and use it to cover round the circle like this
STEP SIX: Cut out a rectangular piece of paper and use the peices of the same fabric to cover the paper.
It should look like this
STEP SEVEN: Fold the rectangular piece into two equal part and gum it to one edge or circumference of the circle like this
STEP EIGHT:
Use the other circle to cover the rough finishes like this
STEP NINE: Use some of the peices of material to wrap round the thick cable wire. Then pass it through the small hole you made with the rectangular piece of paper. It should look like this at the end.
Very colorful design. I love the African prints.
