Pattern On A Fabric Makes Huge Difference.
Hello Needle workers.
It's another beautiful Monday to rise and grind and yes share our project with the beautiful people in the community.
The Holiday is gradually approaching and so many people would love to rock the green, red and white colours for the Yuletide season.
I wasn't wrong to say so when a client of mine walked in with this scuba fabric of the same colour.
Simplicity is mostly the theme of the season maybe because they would be wearing the outfit for a long period so they want to feel very comfortable.
This Scuba fabric is just two and a half yards so I my client asked me to make a simple A-line dress with a flare sleeve.
Here brings me to something we all need to pay attention to as designers, the pattern of each fabric.
It is very important to work with the pattern of the fabric to get a perfect outcome and so that was exactly what I did.
From the picture, you see how I cut out the simple A-line dress putting the pattern at heart while cutting.
Even when cutting the flare, I ensured to pay very close attention to how I folded the flare to get what I wanted which is why I folded it this way.
Her sleeve length is about 12 inches and the round sleeve is about 12 inches as well, so I folded the excess of the fabric because I wanted to pleat the excess sleeve to give it another effect.
After cutting out the bodice and the sleeve here is what it is looking like already without sewing yet and then I headed to my sewing machine to bring up the sides, sleeves, neckline and hem.
I used a black ribbon or bias to turn the neckline to give it a neat finish.
And then it didn't take too long to finish because I have now set a target for myself every day to sew at least three outfits. After all, I have a lot of jobs here as many people would be rocking outfits made by me for the Yuletide season.
Here is the outcome of the outfit, let take a look at the neckline and the front pattern first.
If I had cut the pattern wrongly, this outfit would have looked like a catastrophe, hehe but the beauty came out because the pattern was just perfect.
Here is the side view of the dress and tell me what you think about it. Me, I love it and my client does too as I delivered the dress last Friday.
Do you also pay attention to the pattern of your outfit while cutting and do you think it makes any difference to cut while considering the pattern of your outfit?
Here is what my client's outfit ended up looking like.
All images used are mine, cut and sewn by me.

That looks brilliant and I am sure she will love wearing it! Good luck with sewing three dresses per day, that is good to hear you have lots of clients!
Yeah, thank God for everything and I think consistency pays a lot.
hehe oh yes it does
This gown is beautiful, you are doing great, well done.
Wow! 3 outfits a day is quite a number.
Yeah, that's my target. Thank you so much for stopping by.
Alright, you're welcome.
Amazing as always 🤠
Thanks my lovely friend.
I like the dress pattern, you did well making sure to arrange the patterns well, this is one aspect of fashion designing people hardly take note of unless the deed is done, lol, well done sis
Yeah, many people do not pay attention to the pattern of an outfit. Hehe thanks for visiting.
Girl! This is just so beautiful. I love the pattern on the material and the simplicity of the dress too. You're really good at this❣️
But three outfits a day?
It's quite hectic but it's achievable. Thank you for visiting friend.
Always a pleasure 🌼
I like the color of fabric and design on it.

Wow! I love the color of the fabric. I've always had an eye for colorful fabrics. You always create such wonderful designs. Kudos to you!👋👍
Thank you so much for your kind words. I'm glad you love the design and color.
The colors are so vibrant! Who doesn't love colorful things? Hehehe. Keep up the good work. I'm assisting my daughter in setting up her next booth for her merchandise. I suggested that she make it colorful, but she prefers black and white.🤭
This is a beautiful dress, I loved the sleeves, it gives a very fresh and youthful touch to the design. The print of the fabric is also very nice. Thanks for sharing. Regards
Thank you so much ma'am
