When the Weight Feels Too Heavy, Who Do I Call?

Most of the time, I go through my toughest moments alone because I often feel like no one truly understands.

It’s not that I don’t have people who care about me, I do. But I usually have this thought that my struggles are mine alone to bear.

However, if there’s one person I know I could call without hesitation, it would be my sister.

Growing up, our relationship wasn’t the closest. She was more of a guardian than a sibling, due to our 15-year age gap.

She practically raised me, but by the time I was old enough to truly connect with her, she had already moved out of the house.

Somewhere along the way, though, life happened. I found myself opening up to her more, and with each passing day, we began to have easier conversations.

Now, she’s the one person I can talk to about almost anything.

Still, I’m naturally reserved. I always carefully weigh what I reveal and to whom I reveal it to.

But it’s comforting to know that in a world where it often feels like you have to navigate challenges on your own, there’s at least one person who will always pick up the call.


We all handle challenges differently—some lean on family and friends, while others prefer to figure things out alone. Who is the first person you call when life gets overwhelming? Or are you the type to handle things on your own?
