"La Previa" de LABITCONF - 1er side event en Argentina 🇦🇷 [Esp/Eng]
Luego del anuncio de que Hive va como sponsor al Crypto Summit del Sur y que seré speaker en ese genial evento, quiero contarles algo que pasó un par de meses atrás. Continuamos desempolvando cosas maravillosas que sucedieron y quiero hablarles sobre el comienzo de nuestras actividades en Argentina, uno de los mejores eventos en los que he tenido la fortuna de participar y también uno de los mejores países.
Comenzaré con el primer side event al que asistí. Les hablaré exactamente de dos porque, por motivos de batería (no sé cómo hacían Celeste y @soylaloreto para ir a todos), solo asistí a esos dos y luego di todo de mí en LABITCONF, que fue el evento central. A este último fuimos nosotras dos junto con @fermionico.

After the announcement that Hive is going to sponsor the Crypto Summit del Sur and that I will be a speaker at this great event, I want to tell you about something that happened a couple of months ago. We continue to dust off some wonderful things that happened and I want to tell you about the start of our activities in Argentina, one of the best events I've had the fortune to participate in and also one of the best countries.
I will start with the first side event I attended. I will tell you about exactly two because, due to battery reasons (I don't know how Celeste and @/soylaloreto managed to go to all of them), I only attended those two and then I gave my all at LABITCONF, which was the main event. The two of us went to the latter together with @/fermionico.
Salimos desde el apartamento hacia un lugar llamado "Espacio Cultural Bitcoin", que claramente era un sitio muy maxi. (Maxi viene de la palabra "maximalista", que, en pocas palabras, es alguien que tiene una postura muy radical con respecto a algo. En nuestro caso, a Bitcoin).
Había dos zonas: una de charlas sobre todo tipo de protocolos y comunidades, y otra sobre Bitcoin, donde hablaron de diversos temas, incluyendo desarrollo (programación).
Entramos a ambas salas, pero definitivamente nos llamó más la atención la de los diversos protocolos. Aunque no seamos maxihivers, sentimos más conexión con las otras charlas y el ambiente. También decidimos quedarnos allí para apoyar a nuestra amiga Celeste, que iba a dar una charla. Tuve el honor de verla en primera fila y grabarla para que la pudiera compartir en redes sociales. También hubo un montón de charlas muy buenas, como podrán ver en las fotografías que siguen a continuación.

We left the flat for a place called "Bitcoin Cultural Space", which was clearly a very maxi place (Maxi comes from the word "maximalist", which, in a nutshell, is someone who has a very radical stance on something. In our case, Bitcoin).
There were two areas: one for talks about all kinds of protocols and communities, and another about Bitcoin, where they talked about various topics, including development (programming).
We went into both rooms, but we were definitely more interested in the one about the various protocols. Even though we are not maxihivers, we felt more of a connection to the other talks and the atmosphere. We also decided to stay there to support our friend Celeste, who was going to give a talk. I had the honour of watching her in the front row and recording it so I could share it on social media. There were also a lot of great talks, as you can see in the pictures below.
Tuvimos muchísimas charlas muy interesantes: desde una asombrosa bienvenida al ciclo de side events de LABITCONF, pasando por comunidades y charlas legales, hasta música en web3. Fue una tarde/noche bastante nutrida que nos ayudó a conocer mucho del ecosistema argentino y a algunos de sus principales colaboradores. Honestamente, no me imaginaba nada de esto cuando los comencé a seguir en (Twitter) y fui sorprendida gratamente por todos ellos. Nos recibieron como si nos conocieran desde hace muchos años, hicimos muchísimos amigos que mantenemos hoy en día y algo que nunca olvidaré de todos ellos en todo el viaje es: "¿Por qué se devuelven?"
Argentina es un país maravilloso, pero aún más lo es su gente. La única forma de entenderlo es vivirlo, y nosotros tuvimos la oportunidad de hacerlo. Estoy sumamente agradecida por ello.
Luego de todo eso, asistimos a un after en la terraza del sitio del evento. Comimos empanadas, tomamos algunas bebidas, compartimos un buen rato con los demás y yo me gané un premio que, por falta de tiempo, no pude reclamar. Se trataba de unas noches de hotel en un municipio muy hermoso de Argentina, cuyo nombre no recuerdo en este momento. Para no faltar al respeto, prefiero no intentar adivinar. Al finalizar, bajamos a buscar comida y nos encontramos con @samgiset y @enrique89 en el restaurante. Compartimos un ratito y luego nos fuimos a comer cerca del Obelisco.
Fue una noche maravillosa y solo es el principio.

We had a lot of very interesting talks: from an amazing welcome to the LABITCONF side event series, to communities and legal talks, to music on web3. It was quite a packed afternoon/evening that helped us get to know a lot about the Argentinean ecosystem and some of its main contributors. Honestly, I didn't imagine any of this when I started following them on (Twitter) and was pleasantly surprised by all of them. They welcomed us as if they had known us for many years, we made so many friends that we keep today and one thing I will never forget from all of them in the whole trip is: "Why do you give back?"
Argentina is a wonderful country, but even more so are its people. The only way to understand it is to live it, and we had the opportunity to do so. I am extremely grateful for that.
After all that, we attended an after party on the terrace of the event site. We ate empanadas, had some drinks, shared a good time with the others and I won a prize that, due to lack of time, I could not claim. It was a few nights in a hotel in a very beautiful town in Argentina, the name of which I cannot remember at the moment. In order not to be disrespectful, I prefer not to try to guess. When we finished, we went down to get food and met @/samgiset and @/enrique89 in the restaurant. We shared a little bit and then we went to eat near the Obelisk.
It was a wonderful night and it's only the beginning.
