Holozing Creature Background Contest Entry

TL:DR it's an entry for the Holozing Creature Background Contest post where I try to revive what's left of my dying creativity and find the will to not unalive myself.

Some artistic garble going through my mind during the process:

The object was the creature and it already had an art style that I have to adjust to. The background must try to complement or highlight the creature, not over shine it. All these things weren't simple tasks considering it's all done with the same art style but this is the challenge.

Mixing or using colors aren't exactly my thing so I was just winging the choice of colors and blending it as I went along while looking at ocean references. I was tempted to create more items like corals and fishes but doing that with my style may just clutter the piece.

The lore is set to 2040s but virtual so I'd assume the waters would have some neon tints and aurora like accents. The goal of the background wasn't to replicate what real water is but a semblance of it translated into cyberspace. And I'm making this up as I go along selling you the creativity.

I don't think I hit the mark but it's a nice experience because I'm also planning to learn how to draw card arts in the future anyway.
