#BeerSaturday 324 / In glass or bottle? 🍺

A brewer's greeting over here. At the invitation of my friend Rockstar @zekepickleman I'm dropping by to have a little toast with you. 🍺

I must say I'm more of a coffee guy than a beer guy, I'm having one right now to start the week on the right foot, but in a tropical country like mine, whoever doesn't have a beer once in a while, doesn't have blood in his veins 😅

Polar Negra is the most common beer here, it is made with barley, hops, yeast and water, it is a Pilsner beer and has an alcohol content of 4.5°. Its representative logo is a polar bear and I would dare say that here they drink it almost like water, it is not something exclusive to the Sabbath. 😂

It has a balanced taste and goes with everything. Especially with the high temperatures we've been seeing lately, and of course, it goes well with a day at the beach, sun and sand. It also has its variants in the amount of alcohol content.

Last weekend at the beach

I was recently in Colonia Tovar, a beautiful village founded by German settlers on top of a mountain, with plenty of black forest style houses, beautiful landscapes, crops, fruits, friendly people, sausages, and yes, beer. They have some very tasty craft beers and wines. They are a bit more expensive than the traditional ones.

On the tour we visited a local brewery. Among their brews they have several styles of beer in rotation, a guide gave us a brief explanation of the brewing process, and we were given tastings. They had a 5 proof Lager, which was smooth and refreshing, they had a 6.2 proof Porter, which had a light coffee note, and they had fruit beers, blackberry and passion fruit, which were sweet and very tasty.

The whole tour was very interesting and at the end a blackberry craft beer is always a good souvenir idea. 😁

Near my house, there is a very nice place, it is so close that I can walk there. It's called Café Racer Bar, where some bikers meet during the day, they sell good coffee, good food, and at night on weekends there is sometimes live music, and of course, our main protagonist, beer. They sell what we call here "tobos de cerveza", so it's cheaper to buy.

Also well known in the country is a beer called Solera verde, which is low fermented and very fresh. All these beers come in canned versions of course, but as I'm not as much of a beer lover as I am here I haven't been able to collect them. I'm sorry I don't have pictures of beautiful cans like the ones I've seen here, but I'll leave you with the last one we ordered when I was there:

Without a doubt, something that goes perfectly with a cold beer is pizza, and of course WITHOUT pineapple, as it should be.😋
