Chinese New Year Dishes: Chicken Nangking Recipe

Chinese New Year gives me something, something special and it makes a very good thing. When Chinese New Year becomes a special moment for those who celebrate, I got an idea from one of the people I know, about food that is usually there at Chinese New Year celebrations.

Wait, what is that?
A recipe for a food that is usually found in Chinese restaurants that may be very expensive. Usually one plate can be for 2-3 portions and reaches a fantastic price. During the process of making this food, I realized that it was indeed quite expensive, because it uses full protein from chicken and also a mixture of other meats such as pork and shrimp.

Because I am a Muslim, I chose not to mix pork into it, but also not to mix shrimp because I didn't have it in the kitchen at that time. But, if mixed, I think it's very good because shrimp meat has a soft texture and can make the taste balanced considering that shrimp does have a juicy taste in its soft meat.


Let's learn a little about this recipe, from;

Ingredients

  • 300 gr chicken breast and chicken leg
  • 1 egg
  • 7 cloves of garlic, 1 onion, spring onion
  • 1 pepper, salt and sugar
  • Soy sauce, oyster sauce and sesame oil
  • Banana leaves and plates

How ​​To Make

Listen. Making this recipe is really very simple, but you have to be careful with the heat used, so that the dough can be cooked to the middle. Because it's for eating alone, I don't use tapioca flour as an adhesive (so that all the meat blends together and also saves ingredients).

First of course, clean the chicken and all the ingredients. For the dough, it must be chicken, you can use chicken leg so that it tastes very good and without fiber, but I want to try using chicken breast.

After that, put it in one place to grind the food to make it smoother. Chopper with eggs and garlic. Add flavors such as salt, pepper, sugar, garlic and also a little oyster sauce, just a little.

When everything is smooth, then arrange it on a plate that has been lined with leaves. Leaves are used for easier frying, not crushed and form a dough very well.

Prepare hot oil with medium heat, then fry slowly and do not let the middle part not cook.

While waiting for the dough to cook, prepare the sauce that will be poured over the chicken nangking. Garlic, onion and a little grated ginger, then sauteed. Prepare in a small container containing soy sauce, oyster sauce and sesame oil to mix. Wait until slightly dry and serve.

The sauce is poured over the chicken nangkin. Cut as you like and serve.
