Gaming Photography as an Art form has Validity

I recently participated in a Ubisoft Gaming Photography contest and that really told me that developers are starting to believe that the photos players take in-game are worth notice.

Well This last month New World has been hosting a Community Convergence

Community fun amidst all the secrecy and community chaos of the upcoming June 7th announcement

and a Gaming Photography contest was on the radar!

Rules were simple, Appropriate Hashtag, Photo, and I was pretty much set! Here is my submission:

Photo of my Twitter(X) photo entry.

I upvoted and checked out other players entries and they were impressive! Once the contest duration ended I received a message on Twitter(X) stating I was a winner of the contest! I was thrilled to see my submission was deemed worthy by the New World team.

Utilizing my Real World photography skills to showcase the items and appreciate the opportunity to participate.

Among the logitech items seen, I received an Official New World Art Book & a handwritten note from the community team thanking me for my participation and for playing New World. Those two extra items made this contest all the more special to me.

My Dog wouldn't get out of the way of the photo scene so I took one with her in it and sent it along.

All in all, I am glad that Gaming Photography, as a medium/skillset, is seeing popularity, realization and value amongst the developers and the community as an actual art form that can truly capture the unique and amazing aspects of a game that make it worth viewing, playing, and experiencing.

This is only the beginning!
