I share my participation in the #199th edition of the contest to which we are invited, weekly, by the Ladies of Hive. On this occasion, I am going to answer the questions that @jane1289 has proposed for this week:
1️⃣ Based on your own job search and work experiences, which do you prefer, working from home as a freelancer or working away from home where you receive a steady monthly salary? Why?
2️⃣ Explore how each option (freelance vs. traditional employment) impacts work-life balance, considering factors such as time management, personal freedom, and the demands of clients vs. employers.

Comparto mi participación en la edición #199 del concurso al que nos invitan, semanalmente, las Damas de Hive. En esta ocasión, voy a responder las pregunta que nos ha propuesto @jane1289 para esta semana:
1️⃣ En base a tu propia búsqueda de empleo y experiencias laborales, ¿qué prefieres, trabajar desde casa como freelance o trabajar fuera de casa donde recibes un salario mensual estable? ¿Por qué?
2️⃣ Explora cómo cada opción (trabajo independiente vs. empleo tradicional) impacta el equilibrio entre vida laboral y personal, considerando factores como la administración del tiempo, la libertad personal y las demandas de los clientes vs. empleadores.
Based on my experience, as I have worked in both modalities, I think that working from home as a freelancer or having a job with a stable monthly salary in a company or institution are two options that have their own advantages and disadvantages.
The two forms of work offer different lifestyles, and the choice between one or the other depends a lot on our personal priorities and needs.
I worked in an educational institution for more than 20 years, where I received a monthly salary and enjoyed additional benefits such as health insurance, paid vacations and a pleasant work environment. I loved this job because it allowed me to exercise my vocation and fully develop my profession. However, I find that one of the most significant disadvantages is the lack of flexibility, as schedules can limit the fulfillment of personal and family commitments.
In contrast to on-site work with a fixed schedule, freelance work offers great flexibility, since we can decide at what time and place to work. This type of work does not guarantee economic stability because the income can vary from one month to another, but it allows us the freedom to organize ourselves, to set goals and demands, without neglecting our personal commitments and responsibilities with the family. In addition, it allows us to save time and money because we do not spend on transportation, nor on work clothes, since we can even work in our pajamas :)
So, it is up to us to evaluate our needs and priorities and choose the most convenient way of working.
Con base en mi experiencia, pues he trabajado en las dos modalidades, pienso que trabajar desde casa como freelance o tener un empleo con un salario mensual estable en una empresa o institución son dos opciones que tienen sus propias ventajas y desventajas.
Las dos formas de trabajo ofrecen diferentes estilos de vida, y la elección entre uno u otro depende mucho de nuestras prioridades y necesidades personales.
Trabajé en una institución educativa durante más de 20 años, donde recibía un salario mensual y disfrutaba de beneficios adicionales como seguro médico, vacaciones pagadas y un entorno laboral agradable. Este empleo me encantaba porque me permitía ejercer mi vocación y desarrollar plenamente mi profesión. Sin embargo, considero que una de las desventajas de más peso es la falta de flexibilidad, ya que los horarios pueden limitar el cumplimiento de compromisos personales y familiares.
En contraste con la modalidad de trabajo presencial y con un horario fijo, está el trabajo como freelance que nos ofrece una gran flexibilidad, pues podemos decidir en qué tiempo y en qué lugar trabajar. Este tipo de trabajo no nos garantiza estabilidad económica porque los ingresos pueden variar de un mes a otro, pero nos permite la libertad de organizarnos, de ponernos metas y exigencias, sin descuidar nuestros compromisos personales y las responsabilidades con la familia. Además, nos permite ahorrar tiempo y dinero porque no gastamos en transporte, ni en ropa de trabajo, pues bien podemos trabajar hasta en pijamas :)
Así pues, corresponde evaluar nuestras necesidades y prioridades y elegir la modalidad de trabajo que más convenga.
