The daily practice that grounds me #228

Routines otherwise also known as daily rituals are a part of our lives. Over the years I’ve come to know that there are a couple of things I do daily that help me to feel grounded but amongst all of them, there’s one that has been outstanding at my mornings ritual and that’s my personal quiet time or prayers.

Am not trying to patronize anyone or feel like a spiritual giant but I’ve come to notice that time and time again, the days I do not pray in the morning as I usually do, are not balanced.

First, I’d be feeling so awkward like something is not right and most times I see myself floating through the day with nothing tangible to hold onto.

So over time I’ve noticed from experience that spending the first hour or hours of my day to pray and have communion with God grounds me for the day. After my prayers, I take my note book on my phone and wrote down the things I plan to achieve for the day and get along with them.

This helps me to be able to stay focused amidst the hustlings and bustlings of day to day activities. If there’s one habit I can’t live without, it’s prayer.

Praying is the way I breathe. It’s my utmost sustenance. It’s where I draw my breath and strength from. It’s where I draw my comfort and solace from. It’s my fountain of hope. It’s the fire within me. It’s the inspiration that keeps me moving.

When am downcast and can’t do anything else, I pray. When am joyful, I pray. When I feel like it or not, I pray. I’ve been through a lot in life and prayer is one of the ways I look up to tomorrow and smile knowing that God is not through with me yet. It’s etched deep in my routine and a part of my daily ritual. I can’t live without it.

Thank you for sharing such a heartfelt reflection on the role of prayer in your life—it’s truly moving, @babygirl888. It’s clear that this ritual is not only a source of grounding but also a wellspring of strength, solace, and inspiration for you. I love how you’ve described it as the way you breathe—a lifeline that sustains you through every emotion and season of life.

Your commitment to starting each day with this sacred time and using it to center yourself and plan ahead is a powerful reminder of the importance of intentionality in our routines. It’s inspiring to see how prayer has become more than just a habit for you—it’s a foundation for how you approach life, with hope, resilience, and gratitude.

Morning or evening prayer works for those who believe in praying. Prayer is a kind of medicine that helps you to heal, relax, and bring peace to your mind and soul; those who are believers. A great way to start your day by showing gratefulness to god...

Thanks for sharing...Take care...

For me it is the reading of Scripture in the morning ... God, if you will, gets to remind me He is still speaking and leading and guiding. I keep a prayer journal by my bed and also in my go bag because mornings can be hectic with two aging parents getting up and having needs to meet sometimes immediately, and also with working across time zones ... but on any day I can find some focused minutes to read, thank God for His provision, and then meet the day that often is already meeting me, with more extended prayer times in the calm middle.

Yes ma’am. The scripture too is a great way to start the day. I actually see the scriptures and prayers as two sides of a coin or as the two wings of the feathers that brings the balance. It’s beautiful to know you still find time to pray despite your cumbered mornings. God is your strength ma’am. Thanks for stopping by again🤗
