The soup went wrong

It was Adanma's traditional marriage day, and everyone was very excited that finally shes getting married, but someone wasn't happy with Adanma, and she destroyed that precious day for her.

Adanma is a well-known lady who lived a promiscuous life and hurt many people, after so many years, she decided to repent and amend her way of life, she started doing good business and left her immoral lifestyle, and gradually, she became a changed person.

One day, he met Mr Ndu, who fell in love with her and decided to marry her. Adanma had a friend whose name was Ijeoma, She destroyed Ijeoma's relationship five years ago,tho she apologized but Adanma never knew that Ijeoma was still upset with her over what transpired between them five years ago, she was so unforgiving and was waiting for a day she would take her revenge.

The traditional marriage date was announced and Ijeoma picked the date from a friend who never knew what was Ijeoma's plan.

Ijeoma took her time to investigate what she could do to ruin that day for Adanma.

Mr Ndu came from a state where there is a cultural tradition that validates a woman to ,sbecoming the wife of that state or community, the tradition looked simple but was not really that simple.

For Adanma to get approval from the Chief of the community, she will have to cook a pot of their traditional soup and serve everyone from Mr Ndu's community before they commence payment of the bride price, and the inlaws will be present before the bride (Adanma) will start cooking the soup.

Adanma officially invited Ijeoma to her traditional marriage, not knowing Ijeoma already had evil plans for her. Ijeoma acted so decently, looking happy, but because the heart was treacherous, no one knew her plans.

Ijeoma came a day before the traditional marriage and started asking Adanma, "Ada, how's tomorrow going to be?".

Adanma with all sincerity replied "My heart is beating so fast because if I don't satisfy my in-laws I will not get the approval to be a wife"

"That's not a problem" Ijeoma replied, "What exactly are you cooking?" She added.

"I am preparing Ndoki traditional soup with antelope meat" Adanma responded.

"Ok, I think I have an idea, so I will assist you," Ijeoma replied.

Then Adanma was happy, little did she know that disaster was close by, they all went to bed early to wake up on time to make preparations for the soup.

They woke very early in the morning, starting plucking vegetables and other things they would use to make the soup, Adanma never knew that Ijeoma came with a pack of detergent and a little bottle of kerosene.

It was 9: a.m. The inlaws arrived, and they asked Adanma to go ahead and cook the soup while they waited in the sitting room discussing other necessary things for the marriage and having some drinks.

Adanma was just panicking, but Ijeoma told her not to worry and that she was there to assist her and make sure everything turned out well.
They gathered all the ingredients for the soup, washed them, and started cooking.
There was a law that said the inlaws would taste for salt, not anyone from the bride's family.

The Soup was almost ready when Adanma went out to use the restroom, and Ijeoma quickly added a small quantity of detergent and a large quantity of kerosene to the soup, which changed the taste of the soup immediately and made it poisonous.

Immediately Adanma walked into the kitchen Ijeoma said to her "Babe the soup is ready, go and call your husband people to come taste, we have done a great job"

Adanma happily went to call her husband people to come taste so that she would get approved not knowing that her so-called friend has ruined everything.

Happily, the inlaws walked into the kitchen, and Adanma served them the soup for taste, the first person to taste the soup screamed, "What is this? Why do you want to kill us?"

Adanma was surprised because, at that point, she couldn't even comprehend what the man was saying.

The second person who tasted the soup started to throw up and told the others not to taste it again before they all will fall sick, that was how they all walked out of the kitchen and back to the sitting room.
They told Adanma's parents that they can't approve their daughter to become the wife of the community because she wanted to kill them, they all stood up and left.

Still, in a surprised state, Adanma's family rushed to the kitchen and tasted the food. They started questioning Adanma, and as they turned back, Ijeoma was nowhere to be found.
Adanma quickly went to check for her in the room where they slept but only to see a note she dropped on the bed that said.

"I came to ruin your day and am happy I achieved my goal without much stress, you think I have forgotten what you did to me five years ago just because you said sorry, noo I haven't, that was why I came to take proper revenge"

Adanma started crying 😭😭.

The letter continues " I added detergent and kerosene to the traditional soup because I know that immediately they taste it they will never approve you, in fact, I wish some will purge to death so that they will get you arrested "

Adanma couldn't Imagine how someone had held such a grudge for over five years, something she had forgotten.

Adanma couldn't stop crying the whole day and night
