Hmmm, this idea of soulmates is somewhat controversial cos how do you explain polygamy in respect to soul mates.

Since we have choices, let's choose whom we want and that person becomes our soul mates

Well, I would say Polygamy came as a result of human choices, and the desire to have more than one partner not because it was their fate, I mean we all understand that God does not accept Polygamy except in the case where the partner is no more.

Regardless, you may be right as well.
