See me as human....Loh #188.

Pleasant greetings ladies and hivians on the block chain.

We all have diverse ways that we perceive things and people that we come across on a daily basis. This is a defence characteristics as it helps us identify those who might be potentially harmful to us and those of whom we can allow into our space.

I am usually easy going, fun to be with, kind and hard-working. I love to smile especially when I am around my close circle but when I step into an unknown place or a new person steps into the hood, such individual would think that I'm tough skinned and unapproachable but that is not the case at all. Once the newbie gets to know me, they will then realize how sweet of a person I am.

How do people see you? How do you wish people saw you?

One of my attributes is diligence. Not to sound boastful but even hard-work, if it were to be a person, would salute me. I rarely take off days except on those government imposed holidays and even then, I have one or two engagements that is work inclined that I must oblige to.

I have been in the labour market for almost twenty years now and I can count on my fingertips the number of times that I have taken a day off. Now let's dive in to my main sector being the educational sector that I have been a part of for more than ten years now. I can also count on my fingers the number of times that I have had a full day of rest from work or even taken sick leave just to take medication and treatment. I am always regular at work while some of my colleagues take sick leave at least twice a month.

It's not like I was born to work or that my DNA codes is only work,work, work...no, that's not it at all. Certain circumstances led me to become like this. From being born as the first child of my family, which came with so many responsibilities to losing my mom and having to fill her shoes for she was the one who provided bulk for the family since my dad lost his job. Then the country's economy took April fool's too seriously and has refused to be friendly or return back to its previous state. All these coupled with the zeal to lead a good life and live above the circumstances I was born into and not wanting to be left destitute has pushed me to keep grinding and working my ass off so that I can achieve my goals.

But I think I took this diligence thing too far or is it that my own perception is blurry because I have observed over the years that people around me see me like a robot, 😱. Their perception of me is akin to a humanoid robot that does not have feelings or feel pains. In fact sometimes some of my colleagues leave the bulk of the work load for me because they think I am super human and I can handle it, which of course I usually do but I often wish that they would ease up a little and try to ration the tasks and responsibilities equally.

I wish that they would understand and see me as a human who is prone to fatigue, hurts and pains as well. I might appear tough on the outside but I am a softie on the inside. I also err, feel vulnerable once in a while and shed tears too. I am not a work machine neither I'm I a robot. I am a living, breathing, walking, beautiful human being, who also desires love, reapect, happiness, friendship and fun in life.
Plus, I also have red blood flowing through my veins and not wires, hehe. I know they perceive me aa strong, confident and daring, which I truly appreciate but I would also appreciate a view towards the feminine sides of me.
