The way of submission. Loh #204.

Hello everyone, greetings!

If I ever encountered such a relationship where all I have to do to sustain my marriage is to nod and agree to every decision, suggestion and opinion of my spouse, simply to stay in marriage, then without missing a heart beat, I would jump ship with my head held high.

The way of submission is love and from all the books that I have read and all the teachings on marriage that I have imbibed to enlighten me on the subject of love, none of those books or teachings encouraged subjugation which is what most men crave for in the guise of submission. The bible records in first Corinthians chapter thirteen, some wonderful ponts about love and these should be a core guide in any relationship, marriage included.

Asking the woman to always say "yes" just to stop every argument irrespective of her feelings is not love and neither does that show submission. A man who truly loves his wife like himself will want her to express herself freely and if any mistake is made, he will correct her in love. The husbannd is to love his wife up to the point of laying his life down for her. Freedom of expresssion is an attribute of a loving relationship where the woman can freely share her opinions without fear of being shushed or bullied.

I am aware of several cultures especially in Africa where such is preached and encouraged but in regards to my person, I doubt that I would fit into such society cos I wil be called the wild one as I have always been an expressive person from childhood, willing and ready to say what I feel and give my own opinion on a matter. In the case where I cannot do that, it would lead to emotional torture for me and I would not like to experience such bottled-up and pent-up feelings.

Marriage is a union between two equal consenting adults. It is not an organization with a boss and subordinate relationship between the members. Understanding that you two are now one goes a long way to change the trajectory of how you should view your spouse. Therefore the man should treat his "chosen" wife as he would like to be treated. Respect and submission will naturally follow as a response to love.

On rainy days

With all the benefits of rain, I tend to feel gloomy when the sky turns dark and threatens to pour its contents on the earth. The series of weather changes stir up different feelings inside of me. Don't get me wrong, rain is good and I like when it rains but that's if I'm indoors, cozied up on a sofa or on my bed with warm foods around me to chew and enjoy (I can't kill myself 😁)

The rains play a big role in keeping our ecosystem functional and thriving and this is necessary for the survival of both plants and animals with the exception being me (I think I would survive without some rains). I'm allergic to cold weather and usually suffer terrible catharrh and cough whenever I'm drenched by the rains. If there was ever a way that it would rain without the accompanying cold breeze and night chills, then I'm game..let it rain all it wants.
