Ladies of Hive Community Contest #150 Teatro Municipal de Valencia (ESP/ENG)
Hello, Internet people, everything OK? Today I want to tell you about the Municipal Theatre of Valencia (my city) which I like a lot, not only because of its architecture, but also because it brings back good memories.
Hola, gente de Internet ¿Todo bien? Hoy quiero hablarles del Teatro Municipal de Valencia (mi ciudad) el cual me gusta mucho, no solo por su arquitectura, sino también porque me trae buenos recuerdos.
President Antonio Guzmán Blanco ordered its construction in 1879 in a French style, in fact, the president wanted Valencia to have an architecture very similar to that of France and that is why the façade of this theatre resembles that of the Opera House in Paris. On 2 December 1964 it was declared a National Historic Monument.
El presidente Antonio Guzmán Blanco mando a edificarlo en 1879 con un estilo francés, de hecho, el presidente quería que Valencia tuviera una arquitectura muy parecida a la de Francia, y es por eso que la fachada de este teatro se asemeja a la del Teatro de la Ópera de París. El 2 de diciembre de 1964 fue declarado Monumento Histórico Nacional.
The interior has red velvet armchairs and curtains and frescoes painted by the painter Antonio Herrera Toro.
El interior cuenta con butacas y cortinas de terciopelo rojo y unos frescos pintados por el pintor Antonio Herrera Toro
I like it very much because it has a beautiful architecture, but I like it even more because of the memories I have of it, because when I was a child I did ballet for several years and all the recitals were performed in this theatre, because in fact my ballet school was on the corner of the same street.
Me gusta mucho porque tiene una hermosa arquitectura, pero me gusta aún más por los recuerdos que tengo en él y es que de pequeña hice ballet por varios años y todos los recitales se ejecutaban en este teatro porque de hecho mi escuela de ballet estaba en la esquina de la misma calle.
I can almost smell the wood and feel the nerves of settling on stage behind the thick velvet curtains, in the very dim light, with the anticipation of the audience and then the excitement of seeing the curtains open and the spotlight shining on you. It is a priceless sensation, in fact I would hope one day to feel the wooden boards under my feet again.
Casi puedo oler la madera y sentir los nervios que daba acomodarse en el escenario tras las gruesas cortinas de terciopelo, con una luz muy muy tenue, con la expectación del publico y posteriormente la emoción al ver las cortinas abrirse y el reflector alumbrándote. Es una sensación que no tiene precio, de hecho esperaría algún día volver a sentir las tables de madera bajo mis pies.
In the front yard we would gather after the recital, my cousin (who was in ballet with me), her brother, my uncles, my parents, my sister and I, and we would always go somewhere to celebrate the event. Also, right next door is the music conservatory, so I remember the sound of the orchestra every time we passed by. These are very nice memories that tie me to that place.
El en patio de en frente nos reuníamos después del recital, mi prima (que estaba en ballet conmigo) mi primo, mis tíos, mis papás, mi hermana y yo y siempre íbamos a celebrar el acontecimiento a algún lugar. Además, justo al lado está el conservatorio de música, así que recuerdo el sonido de la orquesta cada vez que pasábamos cerca. Son muy bonitos recuerdos que me atan a ese lugar
