TV shows from my childhood - LOH 230 [ENG-ESP]

For this week in contest #230 friend @irenenavarroart proposes us two very interesting statements, but I would like to answer in the one where I can talk about my childhood, for the simple reason that I love to talk about that topic, it makes me remember and enjoy those memories.

In my childhood there was no internet or cable television or at least in my house that did not exist, my sister and I had a small TV in the room for our use in which we mainly watched novelas 🤣🤣🤣🤣 and is that at that time there were only two open television channels that after one until four o’clock in the afternoon the only thing that happened were novelas.

But after four o’clock began what would be my favorite program called “El club de los tigritos” was a children’s variety show which was animated by teenagers where they presented comedy sketches, original musicals, cartoons, youth series and contests, which means that it was a very entertaining afternoon with contemporary characters at my age which made it much more attractive.

The juvenile series were the first ones I saw in my life, those series were national where the protagonists were the same cheerleaders and cast of the program and in others they incorporated famous children’s and juvenile musical groups of the time. Although I saw them all and they were one of the reasons why I watched the program because they were a kind of soap operas for children, my favorite series were the ones starring musical groups.

One of them and the most significant was “De Sol a Sol” with the children’s salsa group “Salserin”, at that time I filled the walls of my room with posters of Servando and Florentino who became after the series the sensation of the time. What’s more, I still love Servando and Florentino and I think all contemporary Venezuelan women do too or that makes me think that in any meeting or party with people of my age when they play songs of theirs we women sing and raise our arms 🤣🤣🤣🤣.

Another show I loved and still watch every chance I get is Candy Candy, the anime about an orphan who grows up in a group home and is adopted by a rich family, her life is an adventure of ups and downs. I love that story and I don’t care what has been said about Candy at one time, I love it so much that during the pandemic I watched all 115 episodes with my daughter who didn’t know Candy Candy and who enjoyed the series as much as I did. Now I watch it on 24/7 channels.

If these shows influenced my adult self I don’t know, but it is true that they were part of my childhood and I still love them, although I liked musicals I didn’t become a dancer or a singer and I am still a fan of Servando y Florentino and Candy Candy Candy.

Para esta semana en el concurso #230 la amiga @irenenavarroart nos propone dos muy interesantes enunciados, pero me gustaría responder en el que puedo hablar sobre mi niñez, por la simple razón de que me encanta hablar sobre ese tema, me hace recordar y disfrutar de esos recuerdos.

En mi niñez no existía el internet ni la televisión por cable o al menos en mi casa eso no había, mi hermana y yo teníamos un pequeño televisor en el cuarto para nuestro uso, en el que veíamos principalmente novelas 🤣🤣🤣 y es que en aquel tiempo solo existían dos canales de televisión abierta que después de la una hasta las cuatro de la tarde lo único que pasaban eran novelas.

Pero después de las cuatro comenzaba lo que seria mi programa favorito llamado “El club de los tigritos” era un programa infantil de variedades el cual era animado por adolescentes donde se presentaban sketch cómicos, musicales originales, dibujos animados, series juveniles y concursos, lo que quiere decir que se pasaba una tarde muy entretenida con personajes contemporáneos a mi edad lo que lo hacía mucho más atractivo.

Las series juveniles fueron las primeras que vi en mi vida, esas series era nacionales donde las protagonistas era las mismas de animadoras y elenco del programa, y en otras incorporaban a grupos musicales infantiles y juveniles famosos de la época. Aunque las vi todas y eran una de las razones por las que veía el programa, pues serían una especie de novelas para niños mis series favoritas fueron las protagonizadas por los grupos musicales.

Una de ellas, y la más significativa, fue “De Sol a Sol” con la agrupación infantil de salsa “Salserín”, en aquel momento llene las paredes de mi habitación con afiches de Servando y Florentino, quienes, se convirtieron después de la serie en la sensación de la época. Es más, todavía me encantan Servando y Florentino y creo que todas las mujeres venezolanas contemporáneas también lo hacen, o eso me lo hace pensar que en cualquier reunión o fiesta con personas de mi edad, cuando colocan canciones de ellos, las mujeres cantamos y alzamos los brazos 🤣🤣🤣

Otro programa que me encantaba y que todavía veo cada vez que puedo es Candy Candy, el anime sobre una huérfana que crece en una casa hogar y es adoptada por una familia rica, su vida es una aventura del altas y bajas. Me encanta esa historia y no me importa lo que se haya dicho sobre Candy en una época, me gusta tanto que durante la pandemia vi todos los 115 capítulos con mi hija quien no conocía a Candy Candy y quién disfruto de la serie al igual que yo. Ahora la veo en los canales de 24/7.

Si estos programas influyeron en mi yo adulto pues no lo sé, pero si es cierto que formaron parte de mi infancia y que todavía me encantan, aunque me gustaban los musicales no me convertí en bailarina ni cantante y todavía soy fanática de Servando y Florentino al igual que Candy Candy.
