Let's crochet fruity coasters for my daughter

testing running the coaster on my daughter's behalf

If there's one thing my daughter loves most is to drink chocolate beverage, otherwise known as tea from my end of the world.

If you leave her, she'll drink it morning, afternoon, and night. So I thought, why not make her some fruity coasters? @abenad suggested I make the coasters in her favorite colors and when I asked my daughter what her favorite colors were, she said Orange and white which coincidentally, orange happened to be @abenad favorite color. I have sha told her I'm shipping my daughter to Takoradi next holiday because clearly they need to meet 😃.

I decided to be creative with this project by not just making coasters of colors, but also let it drip some fruit with all her favorite colors and thus we have an entry for this month's contest.

PROCEDURES

STEP ONE
This project took me roughly 8 hours to make. It's a straight forward process and from the pictorial above, I made a magic circle.

Next, I made 12 DC into the magic circle. I tried 6 DC but I was struggling too much so I went on with 12 DC.

At first, I wasn't getting the hang of it so I ran to Abenad and although she told me to make use of 6 DC for the base, she also said I should make my stitch tight.

Going back to the 12 DC I was struggling with as it was curving, I noticed the stitches were loosed so I loosened it and made it tight then it became ok.

STEP TWO
For the 2nd roll, I chained 3, then went on with 2 DC in each base Stitch to give me 24 DC.

STEP THREE
For the 3rd roll, I repeated the process of the 2nd roll and got 48DC

STEP FOUR
For the 4th roll, I started doing a little abracadabra lol but it worked, I went with 1DC in each stitch.

STEP FIVE
For the 5th roll, I repeated step 2 & 3. I went with 2 DC in all the stitches.

STEP SIX
Here, I made 1 SC in each stitch.

STEP SEVEN
This is the second to final step where I sealed the coaster with 1 SC and 1 SlSt(slip stitch) till I got to the end.

STEP EIGHT

For the final step, I made the seeds using a big needle and some yarn (White (yellow orange (seeds and lines), cream (orange), yellow (guava) and black(watermelon))

Kindle note that for the other fruity designs, like the watermelon, yellow orange and guava.... I went with Abenad's instructions on 1 DC and 2 DC increase for roll 2 to 5 because then, I finally got the hang of it.

I already have an orange room ready for her and just know I’m not bringing her back at all. The coasters look so good and I love how colourful they are. You really went creative with the seeds and designs you added. Great job and all the best in the contest.

The thing is, Abenad will never let you be lazy. She will be all the way in Ghana doing nothing but you will be tensed for being sloppy 😂🤣😂
