Nature's Mood Swings: Nigeria Weathers Diary

How are you all doing? Hope you all are good.

Today I will be responding to @cleanplanet prompts, which is: "How is the weather in your area?" This prompt is organized by @nwothini335.

Weather is the condition of the atmosphere at a given time, a definition that has been with me since childhood.

In my area (Nigeria), this is the rainy season. Sometimes it rains the whole day, while other times there’s sunshine that doesn't last. The sun mostly shines in the late morning hours until afternoon. Mornings and evenings are usually cloudy and cold. I always go to bed with a duvet.

I really do like it when it’s sunny. Although it can feel stressful, frequent water intake helps. Everything is usually warm, and sometimes you need to take a bath thrice or more. You can easily wash clothes without worrying about rain. It encourages outdoor activities and maintains the serenity of the environment. When it’s sunny, no one is scared of floods.

My second favorite weather is when it’s rainy and cold. People wear sweaters, raincoats, rain boots, and carry umbrellas while going out. In rural areas, children come together to play under the rain, which unites them in love and harmony. This is also the best time for farmers; the plants and crops bloom gloriously, attracting serious buyers.

In my area, we do not experience snow, but sometimes we have stormy weather with heavy rain, strong winds, and thunder. This weather condition is never my favorite because it causes a lot of damage, including reports of thunder killing people and wind breaking trees or throwing them into houses. Stormy weather is usually scary and, although it doesn’t last long, it causes significant damage.

Living through these various weather conditions has taught me to welcome and adjust to each one as it comes. Sunny days make me feel vibrant and active, rainy days bring a soothing chill, and stormy weather, though frightening, reminds me of nature's powerful unpredictability.

Despite the unpredictability of the weather, each season has its own unique charm. The different types of weather keep life interesting, from the serene beauty of a sunny day to the cozy comfort of rainy evenings. Every weather condition brings its own set of experiences and memories, making our environment unique and vibrant.
