The attic was the place where the refugees stayed in the war. They were helped by the family members against the evil from outside.
The war in 1945 is the most black page out of the Dutch history. When I look at this picture I think it’s a place to hide and stay safe. It’s nothing I can imagine would happen in my life, yet again while sitting here on the couch watching the evening news there are still so many places around the world where it’s not safe and where you might need a hiding place. It’s kinda sad and the more I look at the photograph, the more sad I get.

Surely it looks a God spot to stay hidden from the troubles of life (including wars)
A perfect hideout from calamity and trouble and I guess its been in existence for a lifetime.
