The end of one trip / Závěr jednoho výletu. (#beersaturday - 363)

(Google translate from Czech)

Bylo, nebylo. Dávno tomu minulou neděli.
Proč já vlastně dělám některé věci naopak? Například. Odstavit auto, dát si nějaké točené a pak vyrazit do lesa na toulky a zároveň „spálit“ alkohol.
Tak zrovna tohle jsem obrátil. Prvně do lesa a pak nezbyl na točené čas. Musel jsem si koupit lahvové.
Once upon a time. A long time ago last Sunday.
Why do I actually do some things the other way around? For example. Stop the car, have a drink and then go for a walk in the forest and at the same time "burn off" the alcohol.
So I just reversed this. First to the forest and then there was no time left for drinking. I had to buy bottled.

Možná jste zaregistrovali článek o malém bloudění, který končil touto fotografií.
You may have registered an article about a little wander that ended with this photo.

So we will "break away" from this photo and continue a few hundred meters further, to the village of Horní Chrášťany.

A small village that you almost miss. A couple of houses. Some houses bear the hallmarks of the so-called Peasant Baroque. It is a typical building style (19th century) for South Bohemian villages. However, I was heading for a newer building. The former agricultural cooperative, from the times of real socialism, today boasts the name Ekofarma and a nicely renovated main building, which houses a restaurant, a guesthouse and a microbrewery.

What can a person do in the ten minutes left before departure? Just walk into the restaurant, buy three samples from the craft microbrewery, take three photos and run to the car.

IMG_20240609_142823.jpg

IMG_20240609_142833.jpg

As I write. At least I missed the opportunity to have a tasting board with all the samples in peace.
If this all seems confusing to you, it's because I'm still tasting the third "sample" as I write this article :-).

IMG_20240617_201146.jpg

So what kind of beer did they actually brew for us at the Chrášťany microbrewery?

The first thing I tasted was a light 12° pilsner-type lager with 4.7% alcohol.

IMG_20240609_191726.jpg

The fresh aroma of hops and pure nature is almost typical of all craft beers. This fragrance was subtly underlined by the scent of an orchard. Maybe it's because there are apple orchards not far from Chrášťany :-).
The taste was complemented by hops and malt, and again everything was underlined by the unobtrusive taste of sweet apples. An interesting combination, but very drinkable :-). I enjoyed it.

IMG_20240609_191958.jpg

A few days later I made time for a second "sample". It was a top-fermented special IPA type with 5.3% alcohol.

IMG_20240615_201148.jpg

The typical aroma of grapefruit no longer surprised me as much as it once did. It was pleasant and so was the taste. I estimate the bitterness at a maximum of 50 IBU. The taste of malt was a little "hidden", but it did not prevent good drinkability :-). Simply a beer that is worth another taste.

IMG_20240615_201105.jpg

And finally, a semi-dark special with 5.3% alcohol, which I only got to taste today, while writing this article :-).

IMG_20240617_185610.jpg

Při otevření láhve a nalití do sklenice, mi zavoněla kávovina. Taková ta směs praženého žita, ječmene a kořene čekanky. V chuti se snoubila jemná hořkost chmele, kávoviny a sladkost sladu. Naštěstí to nemám do Chrášťan daleko a mohu tam zajet pro doplnění zásob.
When I opened the bottle and poured it into a glass, I smelled coffee grounds. Such a mixture of roasted rye, barley and chicory root. The taste combined the subtle bitterness of hops, coffee and the sweetness of malt. Exactly the way I like it in similar specials. Fortunately, it's not far to Chrášťany and I can go there to replenish supplies.

IMG_20240617_191810.jpg

Perlička nakonec. Polotmavý speciál jsem nabídl k ochutnání i manželce. Přišla si dvakrát doplnit svou sklenici :-).
Interesting at last. I also offered the semi-dark special to my wife to taste. She came to refill her glass twice :-).

Pěkná příroda, možnost ubytování a skvělé pivo.
What to conclude.
If you are currently deciding where to go on your summer vacation, Horní Chrášťany could be the tip for you. Nice nature, accommodation and great beer.

Tasty beer in your region, great to enjoy sipping at leisure, familiarizing what flavours within.

Lovely green pathways to enjoy, then relaxing break enjoying refreshing taste.

Large bottles at 1.5l, right size to share!

There are many opportunities to taste regional beer within a radius of about sixty kilometers from my home. So I still have many "sources" for writing an article about beer :-).

And also many sources for articles about wandering through nature or cities, because there is something interesting everywhere. I just have less time than I would like.

1.5 liters is a package for a small party :-). But I usually drink pale beers alone. It's different with dark specials. My wife and daughter also like them, so we'll have a little sit-down with them :-).

Thank you for reading the article, kind comment and support (tipu)

Beautiful countryside with little breweries hidden around it is always worth the walk to enjoy during warm months.

Large bottles would be nice sharing between three sitting outdoors having a sundowner together discussing the day.

:-)

If it's not raining, we sit on the terrace, discuss together and look at the forest near the house :-)

Those family sessions are becoming rare. We are happy for every moment together.

Summer solstice. Winter is actually starting for you and it will probably snow on the "dragon mountains" :-). How the human division of time is relative.

So you also have a pleasant winter time after the solstice :-)

Mountains have already enjoyed first white capping, early and lovely bringing the temperature down a little more on the coast.

Your longest day our shortest, polar opposite 🙃
