Monster Raffle Donations : PRECIOUS for Precious?

Every time we run a Monster Raffle at SGS we rely on the generosity of our awesome members to donate prizes. In the past we have sometimes given our donators free Raffle Tickets as a thank you reward and we’ve received a couple of comments and suggestions recently affirming that we should be doing that again. My personal view is that I think that giving out free tickets to encourage donations can cheapen the goodwill and generosity that our members show, but at the same time it would also be nice to acknowledge and show some appreciation to those great people who do donate.

So my suggestion for the upcoming Monster Raffle is that we give PRECIOUS Tokens to our donators. Our projects token does have some intrinsic value as you CAN buy Raffle Tickets with PRECIOUS Tokens so for those members who really want the free tickets for their donation, they can always use PRECIOUS Tokens they get for their donation to buy Raffle Tickets. However, members could also decide to just HODL the PRECIOUS Tokens and take a greater stake in the future of the project.

The choice would be up to individual members of course and there would be no pressure or expectation either way. I guess this is one of the benefits of our project now having its own token because we can use it in ways like this to conduct transactions internally to reward our supporters and participants. I’m thinking something like 100 PRECIOUS Tokens per 1 oz of Silver donated as a starting point which should be worth a little bit atleast.

With regards to the Prize Hubs, the individual donations to the Hubs may be less than 1 oz of Silver, or in some other form like Fiat or Crypto. So for the Prize Hubs the PRECIOUS Tokens would be given to the Hub Organiser in proportion to the final prize the Hub puts together and then the Hub Organiser can distribute the PRECIOUS Tokens to those who donated and we’ll leave it up to them to do the math on how that might divide up.

What do our members think? Is this a good use of the PRECIOUS Token? Would this impact your decision to donate, or perhaps not?

I like the idea. I planned to donate regardless, so I'm probably not the best person to ask for preference. I would probably turn in some PRECIOUS for tickets, but I'd also hold some back for the project's future. 🙂

Sound reasonable I'm game, I don't think that's going to have an effect on most members anyway !BBH

I agree, giving out tickets is a bad look. I think giving out precious is a better play. What's the latest ng term plan for precious though? Just curious.

There is no roadmap. I have some ideas for how we can use it but they are unpublished and require development work which I don't currently have time for.

I also think this idea is not good because these tickets are earned by hard work and should not be given to others but should be used by oneself.
