A big hello to the Beer community! I would like to first congratulate the community for such a significant achievement: the 400th #BeerSaturday! My sincere congratulations for the perseverance and determination to maintain this event and with it the sacred flame of this community. In this context, I wanted to share with you what was a pleasant discovery, it is about this interesting Belgian beer brand: Luxus. Let's begin!
Un gran saludo apreciada comunidad de Beer! Quiero primero que nada felicitar a la comunidad por tan significativo logro: ¡el #BeerSaturday N° 400! Mis sinceras felicitaciones por la constancia y determinación por mantener este evento y con él la llama sagrada de esta comunidad. En este contexto he queridso compartir con ustedes lo que fue para un grato descubrimiento, se trata de esta interesante marca de cerveza belga: Luxus. Comencemos!
My story with this beer begins like this, I usually organize Splinterlands tournaments with friends on discord where we talk about both Splinterlands and other interesting NFT gaming projects on the hive network while we are having fun in short tournaments, I call this space the bulkathos tavern since I want the atmosphere in these live streams to be like that of a tavern where we relaxed and cordially talk about current Splinterlands news. These are the moments when I usually do thematic events where we bring our beers, toast online and have a really good time, I do these events at the end of each month and I usually take advantage of them to try new beer brands and that is how fate led me to meet this wonderful beer brand: Luxus!
Mi historia con esta cerveza comienza así, suelo organizar torneos de Splinterlands con amigos en discord donde hablamos tanto de Splinterlands como también de otros interesantes proyectos de juegos NFT en la red de hive mientras estamos divirtiéndonos en torneos cortos, a este espacio lo llamo la taberna de bulkathos ya que busco que el ambiente en estos directos sea como el de una taberna donde relajada y cordialmente hablamos de la actualidad de Splinterlands. Son estos momentos en los que suelo hacer eventos temáticos donde llevamos nuestras cervezas, brindamos en línea y la pasamos realmente bien, estos eventos los hago cada final de mes y los suelo aprovechar para probar nuevas marcas de cerveza y fue así como el destino me llevo a encontrarme con esta maravillosa marca de cerveza: Luxus!

When I got to the liquor store there was the beer that my mother always bought and her favorite: Heineken, but a new brand had also arrived: Luxus, which came in 2 presentations: 330 mL at a price of $ 1.2 and the 500 mL at $ 2 and I don't know how to say it friends, but I felt in the design of this beer as if it were seducing me to buy it and since I was in a plan to experiment with new flavors I decided to buy the 500 mL version to taste it as it should be, I was so excited to bring a new brand of beer to the discord live that I shared it with my friends before opening it.
Cuando llegué a la licorería estaba la cerveza que siempre compró y la favorita de mi madre: Heineken, pero además había llegado una neva marca: Luxus que venia en sus 2 presentaciones: de 330 mL a un precio de 1,2$ y la de 500 mL en 2$ y no sé como decirlo amigos pero sentía en el diseño de esta cerveza como si me estuviera seduciendo para que la comprara y como estaba en un plan de experimentar nuevos sabores decidí comprar la versión de 500 mL para degustarla como debe ser, estaba tan emocionado de llevar una nueva marca de cerveza al directo de discord que la compartí con mis amigos antes de abrirla.
The main reason why I always look for new experiences is mainly because the commercial brands in Venezuela are really mediocre and when it comes to alcoholic beverages I am quite demanding. There was a beer whose flavor I fell in love with and incredibly it was during the hardest period in our country, in the middle of a deep economic and political crisis, liquors and commercial beers were no longer available so craft beer brands like La Tovar started appearing, I became so hooked on this brand that I still keep the bottle. Making this craft beer here in Venezuela is really expensive so it didn't take long for this beer to stop being seen in liquor stores and since then I have been trying different brands to try to get that unique flavor of this beer and I can say that I have finally achieved it.
La principal razón por la que siempre busco nuevas experiencias es principalmente porque las marcas comerciales en Venezuela son realmente mediocres y cuando se trata de bebidas alcohólicas soy bastante exigente. Hubo una cerveza cuyo sabor me enamoró e increíblemente fue durante el período más duro en nuestro país, en medio de una profunda crisis económica y política, ya no se conseguían licores ni cervezas comerciales así que empezaron aparecer marcas de cerveza artesanal como la Tovar, quedé tan enganchado a esta marca que todavía guardo la botella. Hacer esta cerveza artesanal aquí en Venezuela es realmente costoso así que no pasó mucho tiempo para que esta cerveza dejara de verse en las licorerías y desde entonces he estado probando distintas marcas para tratar de conseguir ese sabor tan único de esta cerveza y puedo decir que finalmente lo he conseguido.

One of the problems I had was that I didn't have the appropriate glass to serve this beer and that is another issue with the beer presentations here in Venezuela, they all come in a volume of 250 mL that's nothing! It's less than half of an English pint and barely reaches half of an American pint, I had to dust off an old glass that I had in my bar commemorating the Atlanta 96 Olympics! Once the glass has been washed, we perform the sacred ceremony of serving our beer and seeing its appearance.
Uno de los problemas que me conseguí era que no tenía el vaso apropiado para servir esta cerveza y ese es otro tema con las presentaciones de cervezas aquí en venezuela, todas vienen en volumen de 250 mL eso es nada! Es menos de la mitad de una pinta inglesa y a duras penas llega a la mitad de una pinta americana, tuve que desempolvar un antiguo vaso que tenía en mi bar conmemorativo a las olimpiadas de Atlanta 96! Una vez lavado el vaso realizamos la sagrada ceremonia de servir nuestra cerveza y ver su aspecto.

When I tried it, it was like going back 10 years when I tasted that craft beer. I was surprised by how similar it was, a fresh taste, the alcoholic flavor is really smooth, allowing you to enjoy it from beginning to end. Then I started to compare it with the terrible Polar beer, which is the main distribution in the country, and the difference is that Luxus has an alcohol content of 4.2%, which is slightly lower than Polar and other beers like FES or Heineken, but it is much more refreshing and has a great malty sensation.
Al probarla fue como dar un viaje a hace 10 años cuando degusté aquella cerveza artesanal, me sorprendió el gran parecido que tenía, un sabor fresco, el sabor alcohólico es realmente suave que te permite disfrutarla de principio a fin. Luego me puse a compararla con la terrible cerveza Polar que es la de principal distribución en el país y la diferencia esta en que Luxus tiene un grado alcohólico de 4,2% que es ligeramente menor a la Polar y otras cervezas como FES o Heineken pero es muchísimo más refrescante y una gran sensación de malteado.
After we had our chat I went for my second round of beer, I needed to make sure the feeling I had wasn't a product of suggestion, so I opened my second can of Luxus Premium as we began the Splinterlands mini-tournaments.
Después de tener nuestra tertulia fui por mi segunda ronda de cerveza, nevesitaba asegurarme que la sensación que tuve no fue producto de la sugestion, asi que abrí mi segunda lata de Luxus Premium cuando comenzamos los mini torneos de Splinterlands.
Trying the second beer only confirmed the first impression, this beer is heaven! It is really refreshing and believe me the average temperature in Caracas, Venezuela is 35°C and although at night it drops to 30°C it is still hot, for this reason the most common type of beer is Pilsen and although this Luxuys is Pale Larger its flavor is very similar to the Tovar craft beer.
Probar la segunda cerveza solo hizo confirmar la primera impresión, esta cerveza es el cielo! Es realmente refrescante y créanme la temperatura promedio en Caracas, Venezuela es de 35°C y aunque en la noche baja a 30°C sigue siendo caluroso, por esta razón el tipo de cerveza más frecuente es la Pilsen y aunque esta Luxus es Pale Larger su sabor es muy parecida a la Cerveza artesanal Tovar.
In the end we had a great and enjoyable time playing splinterlands and celebrating with our beers. For my part I can only say that this beer is heavenly, it has a 10/10 in all aspects, presentation, flavor, freshness and volume. Highly recommended if you are somewhere in the tropics or the global south. Finally I decided to keep my premium can with my collection of other beers. Al final pasamos un gran y agradable momento jugando splinterlands y celebrando con nuestras cervezas por mi parte solo puedo decir que esta cerveza es la gloria tiene un 10/10 en todos, presentación, sabor, frescor y volumen. Ampliamente recomendado si están en algún lugar del trópico o el sur global, por último decidí guardar mi lata premium junto a mi colección de otras cervezas. Me alegro que estés tan contento con esta marca de cerveza, ojalá no vaya a desaparecer, después de dar tan agradable impresión al sabor, ojalá no sea como la Tovar, que no se vio más y todos quedamos con el buen recuerdo y las ganas de volver a probarla.
Me alegro que hayas probado una nueva cerveza hermano, es horrible que es limitado en variedades en tu pais, aqui en mi ciudad somos muy amantes de la cerveza artesanal que hay al menos 30 bares que venden productos propios por lo que hay mucha variedad para degustar :D
