THE BETTER’S DEN… VIBES WEEK #29 — 90’s Theme
A 90's themed Vibe contest. Vibes Week 29 of the Web 3 music competiiton.
Hmmm. What song to choose.
So here is the deal. I came back to Guatemala for a 3 week trip.
Mainly here to deal with contractors and getting the house finished.
Ofcourse, it was necesary to get the Band back together jamming.
Kaldera Managed to Jam 3 times while i was back.
We had this great opportunity to Jam at a local studio in the town Tzununa at Lake Atitlan.
Excited to have our tunes recorded live as we jammed.
So what Kaldera tune is the most 90's.
Well, we all decided it was The Better's Den.
Bit blues, bit rock, bit grunge and fun.
Seemed close as we would get.
As it was about Gambling. I also realized many other songs about Gambling came out in the 90's
There was Roll the Bones by Rush 1991.
Viva Las Vegas by ZZ top 1992.
Deal by Jerry Garcia 1991
House of cards by Mary Chapin Carpenter 1994
Jack of all Trades by Red Hot Chili Peppers 1995
Liars Poker by Counting Crows 1995
That was a healthy list of 90's gambling song, and i cant imagine any of our other tunes fitting the 90's theme.
The Better's Den is an original song. I wrote the lyrics and the band worked out the tune.
It was good for Kaldera to be back together jamming.
Life with music is always better.
We had high hope of a quality sound as we were at this nice studio.
Unfortunately i was not so pleased of the sound quality.
though i still thing we performed it well and didnt really mis anything.
But aspects of the sound are not fully up to snuff.
i release the studio album recording someday soon, and you can here how it should really sound.
Though im satisfied that anyone can hear this and get the sense of the song.

That sounds like an awesome jam session! There's something special about getting the band back together, especially in a setting like Lake Atitlan—must've been an amazing vibe. "The Better’s Den" sounds like the perfect pick for that 90s theme—grunge, blues, rock, and a bit of that raw edge, just like the era itself
yes, lake atitlan is a special place.
And i did feel that the betters den was our most 90's tune.
