The Bravest Mother I Know

Mothers are the best in the world, I must say this because it is just the plain truth. I love my Mom for many reasons. She is hardworking, confident and capable of taking risks to ensure the family is good. I must say that since my father kicked the bucket when I was only four, my Mother has taken the role of my father in bringing me up to this age. Being the last child of a family of five, I had a lot of lovely experiences living with my Mother. My elder siblings are all grown and fit to fend for themselves. I have lived with my Mother alone for over eleven years since my siblings left for greener pastures.

Over the years I have lived with my Mother, I have had a lot of sweet memories but I'm going to share my favorite memory. My Mother is a determined type and I love her for that. I remember the day there was a total blackout because our community transformer was vandalized in the late evening. We didn't expect such an unsudden interruption and we had no petrol in the generator. We slept in darkness that night. The following day when I visited the petrol station, the crowd was so unbearable that the station had to close down. I returned without having any fuel. The only opportunity we had to have our touches and phones charged was at the nearby Church which often turned on its big generator.

This is where the whole drama lies. When my Mother and I arrived at the charging place, there was no more space to charge. There were a lot of charging extensions but they were all occupied by those who came very early. There was a spoiled socket available but everyone was afraid of electric shock. Guess what my brave Mom did. Take a look at the picture below, you will know what my Mother did.

She did a wonderful connection of a naked wire with a charger head.
She did what I never expected. I was afraid of even getting close to the exposed socket but my caring Mother who knew without taking such action, we would have slept in darkness took the risk and we had our gadgets charged. This incident has left a lifetime memory of a mother who can risk her life for her family's welfare right in my head.

Though I am not a mother, I know a lot of challenges my mom passed through when bringing me up. Now she is just living and enjoying the fruits of her labor. She used to tell me that mothers are the pillars of the family. She told me lessons she had learned since she became a mother, that's from the time she gave birth to our eldest sibling. She told me she had learned to take responsibility, hard work and patience. She learned to take responsibility immediately when my father passed away and she had to take care of us. In taking responsibility, she also had to imbibe the quality of hard work. Lastly, she said that most times it would seem as if her efforts were never pushing through. She had to cultivate patience. She said she almost lost hope in raising us but with patience and hard work, she prevailed. I have learned a lot of lessons from my mother and I will forever love and care for her

Thanks for reading my story and I hope you have enjoyed it. Thanks and have a good day.

Mothers can do anything just to make sure the family is okay. I will need to come learn from your mother oo because this connection can only come from some one who thinks outside the box

It's heartwarming to hear about the lessons she imparted to you and the resilience she displayed in raising you and your siblings. Your mother's strength and love shine through in every word, and it's beautiful to see the bond you share with her.

Yes, you are right.
It seemed to me like I would never grow but remained with her like that forever. But my biggest joy is that the bond is getting stronger everyday.

Smart woman to understand how electricity works. As long as you don't make contact of the hot wire to either the white or the ground while attaching the socket. I've done this before handling live sockets when we cannot find the fuse box. Then plug in.
