For a long time I follow many people who participate with their Splinterlands Art Contest and I enjoy seeing what they do. Today I come with a lot of enthusiasm to participate in Splinterlands Art Contest Week 308! and I want to start with one of the characters that made me feel more tenderness “Baby Unicorn”.

Desde hace tiempo sigo a muchas personas que participan con sus Splinterlands Art Contest y disfruto viendo lo que hacen. Hoy vengo con mucho entusiasmo a participar en Splinterlands Art Contest Week 308! y quiero comenzar con uno de los personajes que más ternura me ha hecho sentir “Baby Unicorn”.

The truth is that last week I made the decision to start seriously and share my talent in crafts to create various figures either embroidery, cross stitch, crochet or sewing.

Searching through so many wonderful cards and characters I found that there is a lot to work with but today I chose as I told you the Baby unicorn. We all know that unicorns are mythological characters full of magic and color. In recent years they have had a boom in the child population as it conveys a lot of tenderness and color.

La verdad es que la semana pasada tomé la decisión de iniciar seriamente y compartir mi talento en las manualidades para crear varias figuras ya sea bordado, en punto de cruz, tejido en crochet o hecho con costura.

Buscando entre tantas cartas y personajes maravillosos encontré que hay mucho para trabajar pero hoy escogí como les dije al Baby unicorn. Todos sabemos que los unicornios son personajes mitológicos, llenos de magia y color. En los últimos años han tenido un auge en la población infantil ya que transmite mucha ternura y color.

But within the game it is a similar thing but at the same time different because the unicorn babies have powers from birth, they resist attacks, but if any of them die terrible things can happen. Two characteristics were engraved in my mind, adorable and innocent, because they have these characteristics they can be an easy target but for sure they will know how to defend themselves and they will know how to escape in any situation because another of their qualities is that they are very fast.

Pero dentro del juego es una cosa similar pero a la vez distinta ya que los bebes unicornio tienen poderes desde su nacimiento, resisten a los ataques, pero si alguno llega a morir pueden ocurrir cosas terribles. Dos características quedaron grabadas en mi mente adorable e inocente, por tener esas características pueden ser un blanco fácil pero de seguro se sabrán defender y sabrán escapar ante cualquier situación ya que otra de sus cualidades es que son muy rápidos.

Today I bring you the work I did with baby unicorn in the amigurumi technique, which is a branch of crochet knitting, very easy to do.

Materials I used:

• Blue, black and white wool
• Knitting needle number 2 millimeters
• Wool needle
• Scissors
• And a lot of desire to knit

Hoy les traigo el trabajo que hice con baby unicorn en la técnica de amigurumi, la cual es una rama del tejido en crochet, muy fácil de hacer.

Materiales que utilicé:

• Lana de color azul, negro y blanco
• Aguja de tejer numero 2 milímetros
• Aguja lanera
• Tijeras
• Y muchas ganas de tejer

In the amigurumi technique, everything starts with a magic hoop and as you go knitting, you increase and shape it until you get the size used. In the eyes you can use special eyes so that they do not fall out if you plan to give it as a gift to a child. Once you have the head, body and legs, you start to join them with the knitting needle.

En la técnica del amigurumi todo comienza con un aro mágico y a medida que vas tejiendo vas aumentando y vas dando forma hasta obtener el tamaño utilizado. En los ojos puedes utilizar ojos especiales para que no se caigan si se lo piensas regalar algún niño. Al tener cabeza, cuerpo patas comienzas a unir con la aguja lanera.

Of all the work what I liked the most was to create the hair loops and the tail. Since it is a small unicorn I made only 20 chain stitches, I made a medium high stitch on the third chain back and then started a sequence of one increase of medium high stitches, then two medium high stitches, one on each base stitch, and repeat the increase, and so on until the end. I repeated the same thing and made three for the neck and two for the tail.

De todo el trabajo lo que más me gustó fue crear los bucles del cabello y la cola. Por tratarse de un unicornio pequeño hice tan solo 20 cadenetas, hice un punto medio alto en la tercera cadena de regreso y luego comencé una secuencia de un aumento de medios puntos altos, luego dos puntos medios altos, uno en cada punto de base, y repetimos el aumento, así hasta terminar. Repetí lo mismo e hice tres para el cuello y dos para a cola.

The truth is that I really enjoyed this weekend and I took all the time in the world to do it right. It is the first time I make a unicorn and I am sure I will make many more to give to my friends.

I hope to be back soon with a piece they will like and I hope I get their favorite characters right.

La verdad es que disfruté mucho este fin de semana y me tomé todo el tiempo del mundo para hacerlo bien. Es la primera vez que hago un unicornio y estoy segura que haré muchos más para regalar a mis amigas.

Espero pronto regresar con una pieza que les guste y espero acertar con sus personajes favoritos.
