I think about the time when I focused on looking for a better future for my family, having to work in charge of a Department as a Coordinator, which demanded a lot of responsibility, leaving work hours to continue my studies at night at the university, as well as the challenge of building a house for my home, were difficult situations at that time.
I remember that one of my cousins, when we met at a family reunion, asked me how I managed to do so many things at the same time, it comes to my mind that it was with a lot of sacrifice, especially having to leave my little girl at first in a nursery, then in the care of my sister during the day and with my mother during the night.

Pienso en la época cuando me enfoqué en buscar un mejor futuro para mi familia, el tener que trabajar llevando a cargo un Departamento como Coordinadora, el cual me exigía mucha responsabilidad, salir del horario laboral, para al mismo tiempo continuar los estudios en horario nocturno en la universidad, así como el reto de construir la vivienda para mí hogar, fueron situaciones difíciles en ese momento.
Recuerdo que una de mis primas, al coincidir en una reunión familiar, me preguntó que cómo me las arreglaba para hacer tantas cosas a la vez?, viene a mi mente que fue con mucho sacrificio, sobre todo el tener que dejar a mi niña pequeña al principio en una guardería, después al cuidado de mi hermana durante el día y con mi madre durante horas de la noche.
We all have our own way of being, I believe that we should not worry if we do not feel at some point the recognition of making sacrifices, we are worth for what we are, for the simple fact of being able to create and develop our life with the opportunity to grow every day, these are situations that we must face with the help of God, to finally obtain with time the fruit of our efforts.
Eso llevó a que nos perdimos gran parte de ese tiempo de estar juntas, el no poder estar con mi pequeña en casi todas las actividades culturales del colegio, por el tema de puntualidad que me exigía mi trabajo, y que mi deseo siempre ha sido forjar un buen futuro a mi familia.
Todos tenemos nuestra forma de ser, creo que no debemos preocuparnos si no sentimos en algún momento el reconocimiento al hacer sacrificios, valemos por lo que somos, por el simple hecho de poder crear y desarrollar nuestra vida con la oportunidad de crecer cada día, son situaciones que debemos enfrentar con la ayuda de Dios, para finalmente obtener con el tiempo el fruto de nuestro esfuerzo.
In my life I have always had the opportunity to travel, as a child my mother always took us to visit my aunt and uncle in the city where they lived, they were trips by public transport of up to 10 hours. For work reasons I made a couple of trips by air, for 30 minutes from one city to another.
After that I started to travel to other countries: Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador and Colombia, but I always went accompanied. I believe that the ideal is to enjoy the trips with our loved ones.
I had never travelled alone until a cousin who lives in the city of Maracaibo asked me to visit her.
At that time, I needed some fresh air and decided to travel alone. My daughter could not accompany me because she had to study for her high school exams and stayed with my eldest niece. I bought the ticket, decided to drive in my car and left it parked at Maiquetía airport, paying the fare on the way back.
En mi vida he tenido siempre la oportunidad de viajar, de niña mi madre siempre nos llevaba a visitar a mis tíos en la ciudad donde ellos vivían, eran viajes en transporte público de hasta 10 horas. Por razones de trabajo realicé un par de viajes aéreos, por 30 minutos el tiempo de una ciudad a otra.
Ya después comencé a realizar viajes a otros países: Costa Rica, República Dominicana, Ecuador y Colombia, pero siempre iba acompañada. Creo que lo ideal es disfrutar los viajes con nuestros seres queridos.
Nunca había viajado sola, hasta que una prima que vive en la ciudad de Maracaibo, desde hacía tiempo me pidió que fuera a visitarla.
En aquel momento, necesitaba tomar un aire y decidí viajar sola, mi hija no pudo acompañarme porque tenía que estudiar para exámenes en el liceo y se quedó con mi sobrina mayor. Compré el boleto, decidí conducir en mi auto y lo dejé estacionado en el aeropuerto de Maiquetía, pagando la tarifa al regreso.
The first thing I did was to call my cousin, I gave her the flight details, I knew beforehand that flights within the country, unlike international flights, always left hours late, so my cousin and her husband would be waiting for me at Maracaibo airport around the time I would arrive.
It was a very exciting trip, because I didn't know that city and I liked it very much, by the time I travelled it was around December, we went to church, to a shopping mall, then we walked on the bridge over the lake, it really made me feel very good that weekend trip.
My advice for a successful trip is to keep in mind that travelling helps us to release stress, to have the attitude that a change of environment is always good for us, it improves our self-esteem, helping to give us confidence and self-assurance.
I have also read that there is enough scientific evidence to show that regular travel helps our heart, rejuvenates our brain, boosts happiness hormones, improves our physical and mental health and increases our life expectancy.
My mother always told me: you don't travel alone, you travel with company and with God's blessing.
Lo primero que hice fue llamar a mi prima, le di los datos del vuelo, ya sabía de antemano que los vuelos dentro del país, a diferencia de los internacionales, siempre salían con horas de retraso, por lo cual mi prima y su esposo me estarían esperando en el aeropuerto de Maracaibo cerca de la hora en que yo llegaría.
Fue un viaje muy emocionante, porque no conocía esa ciudad y me gustó mucho, por la época que viajé era cerca de Diciembre fuimos a la Iglesia, a un centro comercial, después paseamos por el Puente sobre El Lago, en verdad me hizo sentir muy bien ese viaje de fin de semana.
Mi consejo para un viaje exitoso es tener en mente que viajar nos ayuda a liberar el estrés, el tener la actitud de que un cambio de ambiente siempre nos favorece, mejora nuestra autoestima, ayudando a darnos confianza y seguridad en nosotras mismas.
También he leído que hay evidencia científica suficiente que demuestra que viajar con regularidad ayuda a nuestro corazón, rejuvenece nuestro cerebro, impulsa las hormonas de la felicidad, mejora nuestra salud física y mental y aumenta nuestra esperanza de vida.
Mi madre siempre me decía: no viajas sola, viajas acompañada y con la bendición de Dios.

There is nothing right or wrong of any individual's parenting ways. It all depends on our needs and life conditions, so it is ok for a woman to work and make necessary arrangements for her child to be taken care. But yes in the process there will be lots to sacrifice as well and lots to gain.
I was also a working mother and worked very odd hours, but then when I was home I would make it a point to give undivided attention to my son.
That's life it has to keep going on.
I completely agree with you that travelling is a stress buster and gives us so much exposure to life hence near or far wherever one must keep stepping out of their environment and explore the places around.
