ENHANCE NOT REPLACE

We all enjoy the convenience and ease that has come to be by the influence of technology.

It was about two or three years ago before AI became a rave. Prior, it had been there, but not as prevalent(or is the word, widely talked about?). We realized thereof that AI could efficiently cater to very many sectors.

Nowadays, at the mention of the word automation, a lot of people shiver. They shiver for fear that the day is nigh when they may no longer retain their jobs because it may as well replace their services.

In a number of ways, automation machineries have been helpful, as they have proven efficient and delivered well on tasks.
Asides operating machines automatically which aids us in some areas of our daily living, I see no need that automation happens in every aspect.

Personally, I would never agree to automate anything in my life that I enjoy. Say, things like reading, writing, driving. teaching, photography and some. I just think that we should retain the option of experience even as automation still handles other more difficult work situations. The ability to do things for ourselves can be immensely satisfying.

Life is for the living, not bots. There are many things in life that should not be automated. Many things involving human emotions, decision making and even creativity that cannot be replaced by machines. If bots had to take over almost every aspect of our jobs and lives, then they may as well just live as humans, cause what then is there for us?

Things as art, child care, education, music, should never be replaced, but very importantly, human-to-human interactions should be left as they are. Bots can not, even until a very long time, replicate and/or replace the emotions shared by humans one ro another.

I cannot imagine sharing a joke with Ai. I cannot imagine trading actual, real-life stories with AI; What tales can it give other than what has been programmed into it?
I cannot begin to imagine sharing my problems with AI and expecting its reaction to be heartfelt. Excuse you!? Where's the heart? For a machine/tool that was created by man to make man's living less burdensome, it is only but a 'thing.' Absolutely incapable of evoking feelings. Everything it has the capacity to do was put there by man.

Daily, we complain about social media and online interactions taking the place of offline interactions. We know so well, that nothing beats a one-on-one person communication. We are yet to sort that out then this? People would rather not even share what they think and feel because they're aware that the machine cannot fully grasp what it is exactly that they share. However a bot is programmed, it could never replace humans. Talk about creating bridges in interpersonal relationships and coming close to offering human-like services, maybe. But to think and feel and be human? No way.

Ultimately, it is imperative to remember that automation should be used to enhance our lives rather than replace all of the things that makes us human.

Thanks for gracing this post.
Greetings!

You are right friend. Some of these common daily activities shouldn't be left for automated systems. This robotics seems to be making most of us lazy and it's high time we begin to do something positive about it

We can not even afford to let it take over all our lives because there are health implications too
