Rift That Led To Theft

The floor was covered with several tools and wires. The whole place was filled with dirt, and the walls seemed to be covered in oil or what looked like paint.

Darkness was what surrounded the entire room, as the old light bulb had many cobwebs clinging to it. Dust hung around every piece of equipment in sight, and it seemed like the dark room had had no human interaction over the years. But this wasn't true because Timmy and Dan could be seen across the entire mess created on the floor.

They were seated on an ancient bench, which made a creaking sound at every move. The complete room seemed very spooky and scary, and the silence that settled between Timmy and Dan made no effort to ease the tension.

Suddenly, Timmy screamed and leaped out of the old chair. Joy was evident in his eyes, and he looked so fulfilled. Although Dan didn't have such an ecstatic reaction, he could see the happiness gleaming in his eyes.

Macx Converge.
“Let's test it! Let's test it immediately!”

Timmy shouted. What must have made him look like a crazy fellow?

After so many years and an attempt to create the first-ever drone in the city of Berkins, they finally did it. Dan started up the engine, and one could see the propellers of the little machine rotating and flying up little by little in the air.

Dan immediately grabbed the remote control off the shelf and directed its flight outside the small, dark room. They were so happy to see their work fly up in the air so freely. They had finally perfected everything.

The drone suddenly stopped. And just like that, the smiles were wiped off their faces.

“What do you think might have happened?”

They questioned each other, trying to see what must have been wrong. After paving their way through the bushy area, they came out to a wide clearing, only to see a massive farmhouse going up in flames.

At the front of the house stood a teenage girl, not older than nineteen, staring into the flames. Her eyes were void of any emotion, and the boys felt deeply sorry for her, as it seemed it was her farmhouse that was burning.

Slowly, tears started swimming through her eyelids, and it only took a minute before she started crying so hard. Timmy immediately ran off to hold and comfort her.

“If only I had been careful, this would not have happened!” She screamed fiercely.

“Calm down, young lady. Everything will be okay. For now, you'll have to come with us, since you will not have anywhere to stay.”

Timmy and Dan sympathized with the young lady, whose name they later found out was Anne.

They took her in, and soon they became friends. It was only a matter of time before the two boys fell for her girly charms, and this only created a seed of hatred between the two friends.

Boys who once had a bond stronger than brothers now doubted themselves, and a cloud of envy hovered around them. Trusting became so hard, and they each wanted Anne to pick one of them.

“As an inventor, I'll give you the world.”

Dan tried to convince her.

“I'll make you so rich and the envy of your pairs.”

Timmy reminded her at all times.

What the boys failed to understand was that Anne loved the commotion that she had created between the two friends. They were so blinded by her feminine charm that they couldn't see that the young girl wanted all the proceeds from the drone for herself.

On a faithful evening, when the two friends returned home, they found the house to be empty. All their furniture, appliances, and everything they had invented, including the drone, were gone. Immediately, they kick off fighting one another because they believe one of them must have gone to sell everything without the other's knowledge.

That was until they saw the letter in which Anne explained how she took everything and wanted to start a life for herself. They felt so disappointed and ashamed of themselves. From then on, they promised themselves never to fight over a woman because, to them, that was the beginning of destruction.
