Hola amigos, es muy grato para mí estar de nuevo con ustedes. Bienvenido septiembre, mes de inicio escolar aquí en mi país, deseando que todo marche con normalidad este nuevo año escolar y que los docentes podamos obtener mejoras salariales y laborales.

Mi presencia por aquí este día es para compartir mi entrada o la participación para el concurso del mes de agosto patrocinado por #diyhub, los invito a todos a participar, unirse a la comunidad y estar activo en cada uno de los retos que se proponen. Me encanta esta dinámica porque me mantiene alerta con las creaciones, cada mes nos piden elaborar una obra creativa sobre un tema en específico, algunos han sido para mí verdaderos retos.

A la memoria de Michu.

Este concurso fue anunciado una semana después del fallecimiento de Michu, un pequeño gatito que decidimos adoptar hacía pocos días atrás. Lamentablemente la mamá estaba muy enfermita para el momento de su embarazo y parto lo que ocarreó que de los cinco gatitos que tuvo solo se salvaran dos. De esos dos adoptamos a Michu con el deseo de verlo crecer sano. Lamentablemente el gatito en apenas unas horas que me ausenté falleció, no sabemos las razones. Fue muy triste haberlo encontrado frío 😔 al llegar a casa. En su honor les presento este proyecto, estoy segura que está en el cielo jugando con Salomón y los demás gatos que se han ido.

In memory of Michu.

This contest was announced a week after the death of Michu, a little kitten that we decided to adopt a few days ago. Unfortunately the mother was very sick at the time of her pregnancy and delivery, which meant that of the five kittens she had, only two were saved. Of those two we adopted Michu with the desire to see him grow up healthy. Unfortunately the kitten in just a few hours that I was absent died, we do not know the reasons. It was very sad to have found him cold 😔 when I got home. In his honor I present you this project, I am sure he is in heaven playing with Solomon and the other cats that are gone.

MATERIALES QUE USÉ:

• Hilos pabilos.
• Aguja de crochet de 2,25mm.
• Aguja lanera.
• Algodón para rellenar (guata).
• Tijeras.
• Ojos plásticos color negro.
• Pegamento.
• Cartón reciclado.

• Aguja e hilos de coser.

CÓMO HICE EL PROYECTO.

• Lo primero que hice fue elegir el patrón del gato. La verdad es que se me ocurrió casi a último momento 😃 recordé que ya les había compartido uno con mucho detalle y me aproveché de ello para aligerar o apresurar el trabajo. TEJÍ EL GATO BLANCO.

Decidí tejer un gato blanco siguiendo el patrón, esto me sirvió de práctica para recordar el patrón que ya había hecho. Como me gustó el resultado entonces pensé en hacer dos gatos iguales, pero de diferentes colores. Al principio quise tejer un gato negro, luego cambié de decisión y lo tejí amarillo. Este gato en color blanco lo tejí en una horas, el hilo pabilo que usé es muy rústico, no desliza bien por la aguja y esto me ocasionó más tiempo en la ejecución.

I KNITTED THE WHITE CAT.

I decided to knit a white cat following the pattern, this served me as practice to remember the pattern I had already made. As I liked the result then I thought about knitting two identical cats, but in different colors. At first I wanted to knit a black cat, then I changed my mind and knitted a yellow cat. I knitted this white cat in one hour, the wick yarn I used is very rustic, it doesn't slide well through the needle and this caused me more time in the execution.

TEJÍ EL GATO MARRÓN.

Una vez que comprobé que el gato blanco se veía bien entonces empecé a tejer el gato marrón, les comparto cada una de las piezas terminadas. Me encantó tejer con este hilo, aunque también es pabilo, la textura es totalmente diferente, este es más grueso y peludo, es un hilo que conservo desde hace un tiempo porque me extrañó mucho encontrarlo con esas características. Me alegra usarlo para este proyecto. Este gato lo realicé en menos tiempo que el blanco y el resultado me fascina.

I KNITTED THE BROWN CAT.

Once I checked that the white cat looked good then I started knitting the brown cat, I share with you each of the finished pieces. I loved knitting with this yarn, although it is also wick, the texture is totally different, this one is thicker and hairier, it is a yarn that I have kept for a while because I was very surprised to find it with those characteristics. I'm glad to use it for this project. I made this cat in less time than the white one and the result fascinates me.

😺 Me relajé un poco tejiendo este gato marrón. A pesar que lo tejí un poco pasada la tarde no se me cansó la vista. El tamaño es un poquito más grande que el blanco y más apapachable 😁

😺 I relaxed a bit knitting this brown cat. Even though I knitted it a little past the afternoon it didn't make my eyes tired. The size is a tiny bit bigger than the white one and more cuddly 😁.

TEJÍ EL GATO AMARILLO.

No tenía pensado tejerlo amarillo sino negro, pero cambié de opinión porque era de noche cuando me dispuse a hacerlo. Tenía ganas de tejer y el color amarillo no me ocasionaría cansancio ni malestar visual. Así que siguiendo el mismo patrón tejí todas las piezas. La diferencia entre este y los dos anteriores es que lo cosí para que tuviera una postura distinta al blanco y al marrón que están sentados. Como pueden ver el gato amarillo está acostado. Solo debes coser las dos patas delanteras en posición horizontal hacia el frente y no vertical paradas. Todas las demás piezas se cosen iguales.

• Usando pedacitos de tela le realicé a cada uno la parte interna de las orejas. Para fijarlas usé pegamento.

I KNITTED THE YELLOW CAT.

I wasn't planning to knit it yellow but black, but I changed my mind because it was evening when I set out to knit it. I felt like knitting and the yellow color would not make me tired or visually uncomfortable. So following the same pattern I knitted all the pieces. The difference between this one and the two previous ones is that I sewed it to have a different posture than the white and brown ones that are sitting down. As you can see the yellow cat is lying down. You only have to sew the two front paws in a horizontal position towards the front and not vertical standing up. All the other pieces are sewn the same.

• Using small pieces of fabric I made the inner part of the ears for each one. To attach them I used glue.

Solo me quedó pendiente colocar los detalles del rostro a cada uno. Pegué sus ojos con silicon frío. Bordé bigotes, cejas y orilla de los ojos con pabilo color gris, lo hice con la aguja lanera. Al gato blanco le puse hilo azul en sus ojos y a los otros dos les coloqué color verde.

The only thing left to do was to place the details of the face on each one of them. I glued their eyes with cold silicon. I embroidered the whiskers, eyebrows and eye rims with gray thread, I did it with the wool needle. I put blue thread on the white cat's eyes and green on the other two.

REALICÉ OVILLOS DE HILOS PARA LOS GATOS.

Estos gatitos necesitan divertirse, asi que les realicé algunos ovillos de hilos usando bolas de anime y una bola plástica reciclada. Esta bola plástica la saqué de un frasco de desodorante terminado. Lavé y sequé la bola antes de usarla.

• Tomé hilos pabilos y estambres. Cubrí con un poco de pegamento cada bola y la forré con estos hilos siempre con la intención de asemejarlos a los ovillos o "bollos" de hilos que conocemos.

I MADE YARN BALLS FOR THE CATS.

These kitties need to have fun, so I made them some yarn balls using anime balls and a recycled plastic ball. This plastic ball I took out of a finished deodorant bottle. I washed and dried the ball before using it.

• I took strands of wicks and stamens. I covered each ball with a little glue and lined it with these threads always with the intention of resembling the balls or "buns" of threads that we know.

TEJÍ COBIJAS PARA LOS GATOS.

Con la técnica del granny tejí dos cobijas pequeñas para los gatos. Es un modelo de granny básico que seguro puedes encontrar en la web. Puedes usar el modelo que desees. Yo tenía este patrón guardado en mis archivos y por eso lo usé. También puedes hacerlos más grandes o uno solo para todos.

I KNITTED BLANKETS FOR THE CATS.

With the granny technique I knitted two small blankets for the cats. This is a basic granny pattern that I'm sure you can find on the web. You can use any pattern you want. I had this pattern saved in my files and so I used it. You can also make them bigger or just one for all of them.

PARA LA DECORACIÓN.

Decidí hacer una bambalina con el nombre del gatito. Para ello usé cartulinas, foamis escarchados, regla, lápiz, tijeras y pegamento. Para colgarlo abrí huecos en los extremos de cada letra y por allí pasé un hilo pabilo.

FOR DECORATION.

I decided to make a backdrop with the kitty's name on it. I used cardboard, frosted foamis, ruler, pencil, scissors and glue. To hang it, I cut holes in the ends of each letter and threaded a wick of string through them.

RESULTADO.
