Splinterlands Art Contest // Week 339//LIGHTNING DRAGON

I didn't post for the last two Splinterlands contest because I was busy working on some new techniques. For this particular post I even went with a new style, making the menacing lightning dragon a baby and cute and cuddly.

I used this image for my reference and motivation, and as usual I used Poser 13 to create this piece.

As I mentioned above I decided to go with a different style, so this time I started out with a simple 3D toon dragon model.

Next I added some texture maps that somewhat matched my reference image.

I made a mat of my dragon to make it easier to try out the right background.

Then I added the background but I wasn't happy with it.

So I decided to blur the background which made it look much better, then I added wings and some blue lightning.

Finally I animated it, and I was pretty happy with how it turned out. Even the lightning turned out good, it was shocking lol.
