Voting Service in rebuild | Voting Service closed for a few hours

I just like to give a small statement about the (very successful and highly used) CryptoCompany Voting Service. I have to pause the service for a few hours to adapt the mechanism behind, to provide a more fair experience, provide votes evenly to all users, and especially the supporters of CryptoCompany, and to avoid to much pausing because of "low mana".

As you maybe saw, the Voting Service was on recharge during the weekend. After I opened the service once again a wave of new votes came in. Not only because of the growing amount of users, but partially because some users ordered several votes in one usage - and I don't talk about two or three.

For me it is important that every user - and especially the supporters of CryptoCompany - can obtain his/her votes from the voter, not only the fastest users. Long story short: I have to implement a further mechanism to provide the votes in a more fair amount.

I assume this will be done during the day. As soon as the voter is online again, I will give you a quick status here and in our Discord.

I always (98%) sleep good and stand up with full of energy... what a luck & blessing - my body chemistry & surrounding seems good... I really wake up mostly totally happy!... What a luck & can't wait to jump into the day! Before I do my morning stuff, I start the computers, the DJ console and then the day goes rocket! And when I can read good developments with the chain after I did my morning routine, I am boosted 150%.

In the past I thought about to initiate kind of "tickets" for playing a small application I began to create. Sad, that I don't have it finished until now - you would get some of these tickets...

Actually I finish/prepare a few open things on the website before I release the main game. And the application I talked about is on the website, too. Would be part of / an addition to some other mechanics... I really should finish this application and introduce these tickets... The application is some kind of winning game where you can enter the tickets to try your luck and win some small amount of tokens in the best case. I thought about that people can get these tickets, as well as I give them away here and there - just as a little fun in combination with a "thank you". You triggered me to check next days where the progress of this thing is - maybe I can complete this in a small amount of time; would be a cool mechanism ...

If we follow my will, I would fire out an unlimited amount of votes with the highest value to everyone - but mana doesn't allow that. And the voter is popular because he is profitable like he is - I really don't like to change this.

I am already finished with some new security implementation, but still have to consider how I deal with the high request from valid users. I have several ideas, but I have to calculate them to decide or combine them finally - my actual task.

You need curators with some access to voting service indirectly and the main accounts will vote automatically if the curator picks that post, it's a common practice in ecency and Splinterlands as they manage a huge requests of votes every day.

[@PowerPaul:] Yes, I kind of agree with you. I have the feeling (because of my experience with CCCEO and other projects before) that it is not easy to find enduring manpower. Let's talk open: This can have several reasons. First, it can be because I see this CCCEO project very serious and didn't found people where see it the same way - and then it becomes difficult. Second reason may be, that it is hard for people in the western countries to work for low payment for a longer time. (I can afford that for me [half], because I live in a third world country... but when you live in the first world country where everything in life is expensive, I understand that most people have to work for a "serious" payment.) Third reason could be: Maybe I am a bad team-leader. In general I am a friendly person, but for sure there might be people where say "Oh, Paul can be very stressing, too." Which I would confirm. Beer is beer, business is business. And when I do business I try to act as good as I can. Without any "Oh, today I don't like..." or "Today I feel a little weak... my throat scratched..." I can't handle that. Doesn't matter for me. An objective is an objective. A consideration is a consideration... May be that I am hard/harsh on these things...) This brought me to the standing that I try to do things by myself and/or automate. For sure this may be not the best solution, but it is the actual way how it works more or less. I just have to look at my health to don't burn out - but that's okay. I take that risk. CCCEO is meaningful enough for me to risk stuff. (Plus I am a psycho workaholic - in the regular case I can't act different...)

But, back to the roots: you are totally right. Actually I am building something similar you mentioned together with @freecompliments. A system with curators and this stuff. And for the own voting needs I took the last days to finish the automation - which wasn't done as far as it should be in the past. Tomorrow I have to include the behavior for some public buttons in the voter - but then I hope it should run flawless for people on the voter-whitelist.

If you like, feel free to write your thoughts about! Very often this can be inspiring or helpful!

Your hope will become true! If I don't have a team - but I always have me. Such a small "team" may be slow - but at the end there is the power I need. Yes, this project was raised up with more manpower and now I have to master it alone. Yes, this means longer need of time... but I know on what I can build. Many voting services were disabled, because they were designed in a abuse-welcoming way and attracted down-votes. So I am very happy that this service is legit - and I have to keep it like this.

[@PowerPaul:] DJ! Yes, I assume so. Yesterday I was able to build the main part of modification. Today I just have to do a little testing & verification. I think I made a good system without reducing the price/value ratio. Plus it is still open for all, but gives supporters of CCCEO a advantage. I think the changings are good. Stay tuned! (I assume I will reopen the voter later in this work session and will write a repot about the modifications.)
