Actifit RC: August 27th 23 - Photo tour through the streets of the historic center of Naples - IAAC 440

A dear greeting to all lovers of physical activities that populate th1e mythical community of Actifit.

It is true that temperatures have skyrocketed during this very heavy heat wave but this column of smoke seems to be due to other causes.

A fire exploded in three warehouses that contained household products and cosmetics. The cause is still unknown but the time at which it broke out and the public holiday make my suspicions lean on a malicious matrix. But we await the outcome of the competent authorities' investigations into this matter.

The time of the night photos goes back to 1:30 A.M. while at 8:30 in the morning the fire does not seem to have been completely tamed yet.

After the canvass Ponticelli broadcasting news I prepare for a photographic tour through the streets of the historic center of Naples that begins in the metro station of the art museum adjacent to the National Archaeological Museum of Naples.

The temperatures are in slight descent even if the sky remains serene and the humidity is still little bearable even if it decreases even while at the bottom of the Church of Santa Maria del Rosario alle Pigne illuminates the beginning of this Sunday tour.

When I entered the old town through the San Gennaro Gate my goal was to visit the church whose silhouette can be seen observing the door but I found it closed. Eh, here in Naples, often, even the saints go on holiday.

Taking a shortcut I found on the central Via Duomo the street of the beautiful cathedral with a neo-Gothic face rebuilt just a century ago now open to the public.

The influx of tourists in the square in front was remarkable despite the museum with the treasure of San Gennaro was closed.

Entering the very narrow and ancient via dei Tribunali I was immediately dazzled by the brightness of the church of Girolamini that attracted the curious looks of many tourists who wondered where it was accessed.

Although the statue in the other right indicated that you entered from the side I had to disappoint the ladies by informing him that it was closed for renovation.

Walking down the street I took a nice picture of a private chapel that I had never seen before.

Even the polyclinic was now polished and stood monumental from the historic road of Greek origins.

But the beautiful summer day gave its most beautiful colors at the entrance of a secondary alley of Piazza Bellini. The blue sky exalted the polychromy designed by the historic palaces of the wonderful and artistic wide dedicated to the Neapolitan composer.

Coming down to cross Piazza del Gesù I found myself immersed in dozens of architectural wonders that make this one of the most beautiful cities in the world that bind those born here to the beauty and forms that inspire you joy and happiness to live.

After a short raid on Via Toledo I took the alley that took me directly to Piazza Municipio where a giant cruise ship was waiting for me... Sorry, the subway station to take me home.

With the bus I passed in front of the sheds that continued to emit smoke while the firefighters completed the last phases of a fire extinguishing operation that did not last easy more than 15 hours.

At the end of the day I celebrate with you this long #iamalivechallenge 440 in which I worked hard to collect all the emotions that this trip with you could give me and I’m happy to be #alive again.
