A Proud Upcoming Parent:Raising Responsible Children With Love

I have been a physical parent but I have always lived as a parent because I have always lived with my little nieces and nephews, and those kids are literally the most funny and annoying people in the house, sometimes they do things are very funny and we all laugh over it but sometimes they take those fun things for granted and do things that they are not supposed to do, to me every child has a way inwhich he or she should be disciplined, I’m saying this because I have seen how my sister in law discipline each of the four children that she has because as we all know they all have different characters and altitude.

For example when it comes to her last girl child, she uses golden morn to threaten her, whenever she does something bad and the mother wants her to be remorseful about what she did, the mother immediately threatens her with her best food which is golden morn.

While for her last child (boy), she threatens him with not buying him new clothes, when he hears that he immediately composes himself or maybe sometimes she beats him, and also when it comes to the two senior girls, she mostly gives them words advice because they are grown and would understand better,

But on some other days she gives them merciless beating, some years back when my sister gave birth to her last child, she bought a new wardrobe with stickers on it, the wardrobe was beautiful back then, so went out and the left the children at home but before we got back, they had peeled of all the stickers from the wardrobe and littered it all over the house, my sister in law got very mad at them finished their body canes, to the point that I had to start begging her. After the beating, they all came and started begging their mother and promised never to try something like that again.

When I become a parent in the nearest future I want to be more of the advicing type, although I lack that skill, I’m the type that’s quick to hit a child when they do something thats makes me angry, even though the bible tells us that when we spare the rod we spoil the child, this doesn’t necessarily means that we as adult or parents we should always beat up the children, so I’m really trying my best to more out spoken with everyone including kids.

Some children when you discipline them by just talking to them or shouting, they only listen at the moment while some always prove to be always stubborn and dont even listen at all, those kind of children actually needs to be flogged with the rod, and also should be put under probation, after all this as been done, then words of advice can follow, firstly I would tell the child the reason for such beating, then also sit him or her down and advice properly and also apologize to the child for the beating when I see that the child is remorseful.

Children always don't want to here their parents saying that are not going to get their favorite stuffs so they always tend to correct their ways when such threat comes. I absolutely agree with you in this.
